Is it annoying? Hell yes. Does it diminish my opinion of Las? Sort of? Is he pushing an agenda? Hell yes. Will I put him on the bozo list? Most likely. Is he violating the rules as written? No. Will he use common sense now that he realizes it annoys most people? Probably not.

Free topic range on the Clubhouse. I would not censor based on annoyability of the topic.

ONce we censor a topic, we are down a slippery slope.

Yeah but if you know your threads don't interest the masses and the attitude puts people off why go there? I wouldn't...

He probably goes on and on endlessly about speakers on the electric car websites and pisses those people off too.

"Hey EV pals, look at my new speakers, they are the best speakers, everyone else's speakers are #2 or lower, everyone should own speakers just like mine, if they don't they are fools, my speakers are heavily subsidized by other people's tax dollars but that's OK. My speakers will only play for 15 minutes before they stop and go silent, then I need to wait for 30 minutes to recharge before they will play again, but nobody really needs to listen to speakers for more than 15 minutes so it is not a problem".

Judging by the poll results so far, looks like the answer is obvious. Will it matter though ? Probably not...

Just sayin'....if you have to try that hard to justify something, then that something is B.S. You can apply that to many other agenda drivers too.

Sal should be banned. Without looking at his profile, I couldn't tell you the last time he posted something audio related. He's pushing his own personal agenda, which darn near borders on being political. In all my years, he's the only person I ever put on the bozo list, on any forum. Too bad it can't hide threads he starts as well.

That was the other point I was going to make.

Sal, really hasn't participated in audio discussions for quite awhile now. I'd be more willing to let it go if he was a contributing member, beyond the EV rhetoric, once in awhile. You can only garner so much goodwill based on your past interactions. At some point the scales are going to tip (as we've started to see).

The EV and Green energy agenda IS political AND annoying. The arguments made are those of a political ideology. Ironically the leaders of the movement are huge energy wasters and use people like Sal to push their agenda while they don't believe in it themselves.

The term “useful idiot” is thought to have been coined by communist mass murderer Vladimir Lenin. It describes naive communist sympathizers in the West (liberals). While Lenin and the Soviets held these stupid liberals in utter contempt, they also saw them as useful tools for dispensing propaganda.

In political jargon, useful idiot is a term for people perceived as propagandists for a cause whose goals they are not fully aware of, and who are used cynically by the leaders of the cause. Despite often being misattributed to Vladimir Lenin,[1][2][3] in 1987, Grant Harris, senior reference librarian at the Library of Congress, declared that "We have not been able to identify this phrase among [Lenin's] published works."[4][5]

In the Russian language, the equivalent term "useful fools" (полезные дураки, tr. polezniye duraki) was already in use in 1941. It was mockingly used against Russian (anti-communist) 'nihilists' who, for Polish agents, were said to be no more than "useful fools and silly enthusiasts".[6]

The term has been pejoratively used in the West for fellow travellers and other revolutionary communist sympathizers during the Cold War. The underlying accusation was that, despite the people in question thinking of themselves as standing for a benign socialist ideological cause, and as valued allies of the Soviet Union; they were actually held in contempt and were being cynically used by the Soviets for political purposes. The use of the term in political discourse has since been extended to other alleged propagandists, especially those who are seen to unwittingly support a supposedly malignant cause which they believe to be a just one.[7]

A New York Times article from 1948, on contemporary Italian politics, documented usage of the term in an article from the social-democratic Italian paper L'Umanita.[8] The French equivalent, "idiots utiles", was used in a newspaper article title in 1946.[9]

A similar term, useful innocents, appears in Austrian-American economist Ludwig von Mises's "Planned Chaos" (1947). Von Mises claims the term was used by communists for liberals that von Mises describes as "confused and misguided sympathizers".[10] The term useful innocents also appears in a Readers Digest article (1946) titled "Yugoslavia's Tragic Lesson to the World", an excerpt from a, at the time, forthcoming book (no title printed) authored by Bogdan Raditsa (Bogdan Radica), a "high ranking official of the Yugoslav Government". Raditsa says: "In the Serbo-Croat language the communists have a phrase for true democrats who consent to collaborate with them for 'democracy.' It is Korisne Budale, or Useful Innocents."[11]

Maybe we need a new heading besides just "The Clubhouse". We could call it "Sals EV Obsession".

Are "question talkers" irritating ? Most definitely ! Do you have to click on the EVHOLE's threads ? No. Is it time for PFB's return to these pages ? Perhaps. ;)

I don't think a person should be banned, or a thread for that matter, in the Clubhouse section (granted, within the rules of course). It doesn't have to be audio related as we have seen over and over. I don't believe all the hype with electric vehicles, or hybrids, and don't plan on ever owning one. I do, however, believe in someones right to purchase what they want to drive. Just like a different pair of speakers, amps, etc... However, I don't remember anyone (memory could be going here) just pushing their specific type of equipment as far as audio is concerned.

Does the constant "preaching" of electric cars kind of irritate me? Sure, but I don't go back to those threads and won't go into any in the future. That's exactly WHY I don't read them anymore. At first it was a curiosity, not anymore. However, there are many threads I don't click on because the title doesn't interest me. This one did because of the content.

We all have the right to "not" read a thread or get involved in it...

Eight posts and he's flapping his lip.. Who is he to say we can't have it both ways, a moderator??? Let's find out who would prefer Lasareath talk about his audio adventures or his electric car. Please choose one or the other, in this poll we simply can't have it both ways.
