Bye Greta

So today I said goodbye to my Bimmer. Greta was no longer meeting our needs and she had to be replaced. So I introduce you to Jasmine...my new auburn headed minx.
Sure...it isn't a shiny new watch but it'll do.

Details are 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit with quite literally every single package option (which the Summit already comes loaded with but added the tow package and rear seat blu-ray system). And yes, that thing does got a Hemi.
I had been looking at new Overlands and just couldn't bring myself to buy new at nearly $20k more for a certified pre-owned that was barely broken in.
Between remaining factory warranty and the extended warranty that takes over when the factory expires, I am looking at 8 years or around 200k miles worth of warranty.
Jasmine will be with me for a while now...

Nice ride, and you can't have to much warranty coverage when it comes to a Jeep product.

Funny you mentioned. My friend brought over his new 15 SRT just last week. White with the black chrome wheels and paddle shift. The paddle shift is really slick. It has some kind of noise interior canceling tech. in it which I don't understand. Bought a brand new car once and will never do that again. Have fun with your newer ride!

I think the Hemi block is painted orange. Don't know if that's SRT only or all Hemi's?

    Thanks Steve!

@charley95 That's an SRT8 thing. The block on mine is black from what I can tell. One of my long time friends is the part manager at the dealer where I got this and they have a white with black interior SRT8 in the show room. We sat in it and made vroom vroom noises while waiting on the paperwork.
Then one of the sales guys let me take his 2014 SRT8 for a drive around the lot. The Summit doesn't have quite the Giddyup of the SRT8 for obvious reasons but I would be hard pressed to find anywhere the SRT8 is far enough ahead to justify the $15k-$20k premium outside of just cool factor.

I will get some pictures taken and get them posted up. Right now it is time to get ready for a weekend trip to KC.

The one you posted is really sharp! I went the Lexus route back in December and bought a metallic black RX 350, 2014 with 6000 mi. First import and first black car I've owned. Time will tell if reliability pans out, plan to own it for 10 years. If you get the polish bug for your Jeep i tried a product called glare.com I must say their sales approach is just like a gypsy scam but it's the best product I've ever used. I did a 3 step process with an orbital and microfiber pads. The black on mine looks insane!
Hope you get to eat some good K.C. bbq!

Nice Jeep. We bought a new Grand Cherokee limited back in 04, I have only had to replace the battery, brakes, and shocks. It's been the best car I've ever owned. I still drive it almost every day.

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

Now that Jeep and Chrysler are owned by the Italians (Fiat) maybe that will get better.

Congrats on the new ride! I love the new car feeling while it lasts.

Nice color on that Grand Cherokee. Seems to be fairly rare. My 2012 Grand Cherokee Summit with Hemi is going strong. Only problems have been a windshield cracked by a rock and a couple small dings in the hood, which is an aluminum panel to save weight. Only getting around 14 mpg in suburbia though. Around 22 mpg on highway trips.

Got 26mpg avg in Eco mode doing 75-80mph from Des Moines to Kansas City. Very happy with that as it is ballpark to the BMW.

Also got to play around with sport mode a little bit and oh boy does she wake up in sport mode.
