I am a huge football fan. I recently got rid of a Ps2 that I have had since it first came out. I am going to purchase a new XBOX system this week. I know that the XBOX is supposed to be better. You don't have to get a memory card, you can rip music to the internal drive, faster game loading, best graphics, etc. What I am having a problem deciding is which football game do I get to start out with. I am getting Halo and one football game. Which one do you gamers suggest?:confused::confused:

NFL2K5 is my favorite and it's getting a much higher rating in all the mags. Plus it's $20 instead of what...$54?

Thanks for the advice. I like the ESPN basketball better than Live. The price alone gets me on the NFL2k. I have played Madden 2005 on the Gameboy Advance SP and I don't see anything that makes me feel different about the presentation or gameplay of it. I won't be buying Live when it comes out. ESPN seems better in football and basketball. I will wait for a few more replies so I can get cussed out by a few Madden fans. :D:D:DESPN Madden basketball

Madden DOESN'T suck or anything. It's an awesome game. I just think that ESPN has the edge on it. Not only am I going by the critics I'm going by my own personal opinion. Maybe go to Blockbuster and rent them both....

....also...ESPN will be doing this $20 price with NHL and their Baseball series. Should be awesome!

I heard news last night on XBox live that EA has completely dropped their sports franchise and ESPN has picked it up.

So it looks like Madden and ESPN will be one next year. Now i heard multiple people talking about it.

Not sure if it is Rumor or not.

I believe you're thinking of Acclaim...which had a HUGE falling out with the MLB players union and lost the rights to use players names, logos, ect.

I could be wrong though. I didn't read anything about that in the latest Game Informer magazine which just did a huge article about EA LA.

There is no way EA is dropping sports. Get Madden if you are a hard core sim fame. Espn if you like arcade more.
Wish I was a polkologist then I could call my self Dr.warviper.

Thanks fellas. I went to Circuit City tonight and I picked up NFL 2K5 and Halo. ESPN NFL 2K5 was on sale for $16.99, and I got Halo for $24.99. I have never played XBOX so this is going to be new to me. I will Pick up the game console at the end of this week after I pay my rent.:D :D:D I got the games first because I did not want to miss those deals.

By the way, does anyone know when ESPN NBA 2K5 will be released?

Well guys I got the XBOX tonight and I set it up on my projection TV. All I can say is WOW! I didn't even get the HD cables I got the regular cable with the optical out and the picture and sound are unreal. This is what I"ve been missing? No disrespect to any PS2 gamers, but XBOX is da shizznit! My PS2 would freeze up and take a long time to load also those little **** memory cards were a pain in da butt. I am very pleased with this system and with the NFL2K5 football game. Look out Madden! The half time show and highlights made me feel at times that ESPN was being watched instead of a video game. Thursday I will try out Halo if I can stop playing NFL2K5 long enough. By the way, I played for about 4 1/2 hours tonight. Thanks for the advice fellas!
