I use an Anthem mrx 300 and have a power amp hooked up to them, Idid buy the Anthem 310 and forgot that it does not have any pre outs so that will need to go. What ever you choose make sure it has pre outs as no avr will do justce for your speakers dipping to 2 ohms in hardcore action movies.

    Gear in my signature.

Depending on what your goals and expectations are I would strongly suggest separate amplification for the 12's to bring out their potential as no AVR can provide the power they need to really shine.

Personally, I hated the 9's (same as 12's) before I had a separate amp to run them.

My personal recommendation, ditch the 3000 series Yamaha, get a 2000 series, use the money you just saved to buy a separate amp like a Parasound 1000/1200/1500. You'll have better sound for the same amount spent.

Or buy the 800 series (lowest with pre-outs), save even more money, but separate 5 channel amp, have even more amazing sound and still spend the same amount as the 3000 by itself.
