How to mount Erse Super Q in Polk CRS+ Speakers

I tried doing a quick search but nothing came up.
Got all the new inductors in (thanks a ton Trey!) and I'm ready to get to work tonight, but I have a few questions. My questions are about the big 16mh inductors.
1. How and where are you guys mounting the Erse Super Q inductors in your CRS+ speakers? Velcro to the bottom of the cab?
2. Did you remove the old inductor?
3. What kind of wire do I new to run to the new inductors? All I have is some some standard 16 gauge stranded wire sitting around. Is that okay?
Thanks guys!

If you're using the original circuit board, the two black wires going to the original inductor can be re-used. Just solder two male spade quick connects on the SuperQ wires, and connect the two black wires to them. Use two 1/2" wood screws to attach it to the back or side wall. I wouldn't use Velcro.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Hey Audio, would you post pics once you get it mounted? I may end up going with this in the rebuild of my CRS+, butI haven't quite decided which SDA inductor to use yet.
WMG, due to the fact that it's iron core do you forsee any issues with the size of the CRS+ cabinets? It's not really possible to locate it away from any of the drivers.

I wanted to keep all the inductors mounted as a single unit. This worked well for my 2BTLs. Maybe it would work in CRS+ cabinets as well.

I would mount it on the back wall directly below the spool inductor. All Inductors are affected by close proximity to magnets or metal that can be magnetized. Look how close the air core inductors are to the back of the woofer. In fact, the cap screw that holds the 16mh spool inductor affects the value of the inductor. If you have an LCR Meter, you can check it during installation.drumminman wrote: »Hey Audio, would you post pics once you get it mounted? So would it be better to mount it and the Xover in an external enclosure? This would solve the proximity issue and remove the Xover components from a high vibration environment.
Wonder what effect, if any, this would have on improving SQ?"Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -
I'm sure proximity was taken into account when the CRSs were developed. I wouldn't overthink it. Actually, it could be done, SpeakON makes an 8 pole connector.Home Theater/2 Channel:
