Another computer issue

I put some files on a brand new USB key for a friend, now he calls me and says the USB key is not showing up in his computer, but shows up in mine no problem..
USB key should be formatted as fat32 correct?
Or ntfs?
Any suggestions would be awesome..

    Well he brought it back over and now it does not show up in my computer either..
    I think it's a defective stick..I'll return it tomorrow..

    I had one go bad, like you said windows did not even recognize it. I was a cheap one though from Frys Electronics. Just picked up a Silicon Power 64GB Firma ZN F80 USB 2.0 Flash Drive, Gray Aluminium (SP064GBUF2F80V1S) from amazon for $25.00, really nice and has a all metal case. The 32Gb was $15.00, if you were looking to purchase a new one.

    many times with USB people forget it is a electronic device and is subject to power charges. What happens in most cases is the person puts in the USB while a system is running and small amount of electrical charge surges and wipes the USB out making it useless, or people yank it out without going through the steps of safe removal from a system. 9 out 10 times its user error!
