Hehehe, you haven't been around for a couple days I take it. I will give you a quick rundown of the events of this weekend.

    1. That was supposed to be a small exclusive offer to a select few folks so there was no big announcement, just an email that went out to those select few
    2. The email was posted on AVS, got re-posted here, and a bunch of other sites
    3. Polk got 2k orders from what I have heard over the weekend
    4. This spawned some speculation threads about the potential demise of Polks, it being bought out, etc
    5. In response to #3 & #4
5A. They pulled the sale one day early and removed all threads on the sale here
5B. They have killed 4 threads at least inquiring about why the sale ended early on this site

    Thanks, guys.

Monitor 10A's $100 Pretty good deal I think. I would love to have them but the timing isn't for me though. I just started back to school and I don't need the distraction. I've looked at this ad for a week now and decided I couldn't focus on my studies with these in the house. Passing it on to you guys, so I can move on.

Sorry you feel that way and I guess I agree. But I did say "after trying them out" so it wouldn't be just flipping them. I don't know if my little Pioneer is enough to drive them. The Monitor 7's are easy to drive, but I figured those speakers would require more umph. My house doesn't have much storage space at all, no garage, and I don't have room to keep multiple sets of speakers, mostly just those I am using.

So I wouldn't just be flipping them, if I bought them, which I didn't. I like trying out different speakers but can't afford those I would find in a retail store. So if i buy speakers that I know I can resell for at least as much as I paid for them, it lets me demo them for free basically.

I recently lost a fairly good paying job and had to take one that pays less than I need. Spending money on a hobby isn't a good idea right now, so if I can find some enjoyment from it without using funds much needed elsewhere, that's what I do.

I often come on here to ask what the value is because I know most people here are more knowledgeable about what's good and what's bad and what I might be able to "flip" if I don't like the sound.

i had some rti8's & i had all i could do to get 120.00 for them minty. I had them hooked to one of my Marantz 2252b's and it pushed them very nicely but they did need a tad bit more power & wasnt enough bass with vintage 2 channel w/no subwoofer. Probably make a nice HT front speaker w/subwoofer for sure
