Dan,
Is that new paint on the wall in that pic? Very contemporary look to that furniture too. Looks real good and different. Looks like you got rid of that famous tablecloth too you had at the other place.;)
Congrats to both parties on the sale here. Man, it only took what 2,600 views to sell these speakers. -
Thanks pjdami.....Im lookin forward to life with the 9's. Kris
-
pjdami,
yes and thank you.Our house when I bought it new,the builder would not paint the place the colors I wanted or better put she wanted. So after we moved in,we got organized and started painting. The Livingroom is 2 tone,it's Cobolt blue and Wilminton Tan.It works well with our furniture as you can see is Contempary. It's Jaymour from Italy.
Yeah I didn't think they where going to sell so I started to listen to them again.I almost turned down radkrisdoc as I was considering keeping them. The 9's are fantastic speakers.he should enjoy them.
By the way there SOLD.

Sorry I did not post this sooner guys.....I had no access to the internet for 5 days.....
I received the speakers, but since I was going out on a short vacation, I just inspected them, giving them a cursory inspection then. Im back now and Ive listened to them for a while. They are awesome.
I was a bit concerned when I could not communicate with Dan (Mantis) after I made the payment.....esp after he had promised me to send the shipping details plus tracking number. Well, I did not receive a tracking number, but he emailed me that he shipped by Fedex. I told myself.....patience (lol this is the first time Ive bought off someone from this forum).....and my patience paid off.....got the speakers in good condition, had no shipping disasters.
I have this one question for ya Dan. If the speakers had arrived damaged, what would have been the correct procedure to follow?
Just need to be well equipped with info on the way things work. I will definitely buy again from people in this forum.
And Dan gets a A+++++ rating from me. Will do business with you again Dan, please keep me posted if you have anything else for sale.
The speakers did improve the sound. I have a JVC RX-8000VBK receiver and even this crappy receiver showed an improvement on the LSi9's compared to the RTi70's that I already have. It's got an impedance switch which I set to 4 ohms......I dont drive it too hard though, just in case. There is a definite and awesome improvement in treble. The LSi9 does things with style. I quite dont have words to describe the difference between the RTi70's and the 9's (I tried describing them to my brother and finally ended up saying "come listen.....u'll know urself" lol). Im satisifed. Ive also found that these have those seams (older LSi's I believe...) can anyone tell me what the difference is (if there's any) between 9's with seams and the newer 9's?
Now Im one satisfied Polkie

See, it's no big deal. You spot what you want from someone you don't know, you send them the money with no recourse, later on you hope to receive something that looks brand new.
I know, it's not the way our parents brought us up but it works. Sure, there are a few scammers on the internet (and a few junk dealers) but out of the 300 or so transactions I've been involved with on ebay, audiogon and the polk site I've only had a few problems.
Lets see:
Scott Trigg: $140
Ebayer: Kept $175 insurance money on MY damaged item
Audiogon: Big hassle with some speaker shipping damage but it got resolved to my satisfaction
Ebayer: Said he never got paid but eventually sent out an LP
Ebayer: Didn't receive my MO for 3 weeks
Polk member: Never got his item $25 (probably to the wrong addy)
Polk member: Sent to the wrong address but he finally received it
So, out of $30K worth of transactions (which saved me maybe $40K over buying at a "safe" brick and morter store I lost $340. Lets just say that maybe 1% of the deals out there go bad. You can't get better odds than that anywhere!

radkrisdoc,

ok first of all I wasn't going to send the speakers.I don't even own any Lsi whatever I made up.I am a scam artist and I'm out to get all of you.....waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
ok on a serious note,
Your very welcome and I'm happy your happy with them.Madmax sold them to me in perfect shape and you received them the exact same way.Hell I didn't even get to put there first scratch on them..that will have to be your job.
I insured them for what we agreed on.If they did get damaged,I would have sent your money back and I would have made the claim. Before I sent your money back I would have asked for pic's of the damage goods.
Honestly I never traded or bought anything offline before I started dealing with the nice people in here.Once in awhile we get a bad egg but generally a great crowd.
I had 100% sadisfied sales and things I bought from others.I haven't had one bad experience except with a bello rack UPS scratched up which I paid them 150 bucks to box.Insured is the only way to go.
Enjoy them and down the road buy better gear to run them off. You'll hear them again for the first time.

Dan...yes, thank you (again!), I hope you got my message on your phone that day.....and no, there wont be any scratch on the speakers.....I dont treat my equipment that way, no sir, I baby them.
Im aiming toward upgrading to Parasound....lol I hope that becomes possible soon. Kris -
And for the record when UPS scratched and dented that Bello Rack Dan sent me back every penny I had paid him before they had even settled his claim.
Absolutely stand up guy. -
Was that the one I saw at his house which was all scratched up before he even packaged it?

Umm...not really, I just think Parasound wd be my choice as far as price/what u get ratio goes. Ive located a dealer in louisville too, Im gonna call him and see if I can demo Parasounds with my LSi9's. If they sound good enough (Im sure they will) I will upgrade to Parasounds.....prolly the 1800 preamp and will go on to add amps, adding 2 channels at a time.
Till then, its the JVC....one remark about the JVC here, I thought the LSi9's wont sound "loud" but they do......of course, better amps will add life and punch (thats what I may be missing now). Will keep u informed about that. Kris -
Nevermind me, I was just checking in to see how this post is still alive and kicking 2 months after it's inception.
Carry on.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -
radkrisdoc,
cool deal.Let me know how you make out.If they have other seperates,I would try them all out and see what you like the best.Parasound is good stuff.
