AWG for in wall wiring

I'm remodeling and will be running speaker wire in attic and walls soon. What size do you recommend I use? Been looking at Monoprice, Parts Express and Amazon for deals.
Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Friend.

    Well, I thought that lower gauge (thicker wire) was better, and 12g is the thickest, economical wire I found. That meaning, that you might be able to find 10 or even 8 gauge, but it was more than I cared to spend. And, I think 12g is the largest wire that fits easily into standard banana plugs, which I also got from monoprice.

    For the length of runs I was using, I read that 16g would be OK, but I figured overengineering couldn't hurt. And the source that said 16g was not necessarily as high-end as we are here at the Polk forum!

    If each speaker run is <100', you could prolly get by w/ 14-2. 500' of CL2 14-2 is $112.89

    10 AWG is a PITA to work with....so I would go 12 AWG max
