First I get my brand new A7s with that tube fallen off

http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?129291-oh-horror!-It-came-broken!-What-do-I-do

and yesterday I go and I grab a pair of f/x500 from craigslist that looked like the box was just opened. I didn't even bother to check if they work. I go home and as I am about to plug them in I feel something rattling inside.

Now I am wondering if the guy had the rattle and that's why he got rid of them so cheap. They play and look like new (once I glued the tube back on) and came with GORGEOUS WOOD STANDS.

Man, you're really unlucky... I hope there is nothing else, and that you fixed everything!

On the contrary, I'd say he was pretty lucky indeed. The loose tube got him a pretty sweet deal and no performance was sacrificed.

Now, if I can just find someone trying to sell some LSiM's with a slight rattle................

    I love these easy fixes!!

I've had my share of reglueing port tubes. "Aileenes" (sp) glue works great.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

    can I use the f/x i 500 for fronts?

They say surround, but i only have the RM7 set for fronts.. and I can't have these for surround with my small RM7 for fronts..

Also what does dipole/bipole even mean? I saw the switch when I disassembled the speaker but I have no idea what it does..

Check it out DSkip, look at the 1st post, this guy just got brand new RTiA7's. I'm curious why those aren't being used as his fronts.

OK, i bought the A7s for HT and the living room, but I hooked them to my PC in my bedroom and now i can't let go of them. The thing is i spend 90% of my time in my bedroom, playing PC games or listening to music. I LOVE the A7s with the A6, and don't want to put them in the living room, where I only watch TV while I have dinner.

So the A7s and the A6 displaced the front 3 of my my RM7, and i don't need the DSW 660 pro either. I like how the my new front 3 make less bass, but make it super crisp.

So the f/x 500 and the front 3 from the RM7 are going to my living room, along with the 660 sub. But I don't know if I should put the big f/xi on the front and get advantage of their size and lower range, or put them on the back the way they were designed, and have a tiny RM7 satelites for front. See my problem now?

You crazy man, but it's okay. Can't blame you for wanting the best where you hang the most.

Go ahead and use the F/X500 as mains, the worst it can do is sound good. You have options, just listen to the speakers, swap 'em around and see what works best where.
