Phase Linear pre-amp repair

So.....has anyone ever done any repairs on a Phase Linear 4000 series I pre-amp? I have a dead left channel and I'm too stubborn (cheap?) to pay someone else to fix it so I'm looking for some free advice.
I can fix it if I have a clue what to look for. So I know you'all fix these all the time so give it up!

    Try over at audiokarma... There's a member named echowars that appears to be a whiz with old electronics. I've been following this thread with great interest.
