file server problems

man my file server is down this sucks all my movies and music is un axessable till i fix the comp but i havent had the time to get the parts or start working on it. eather i brole the harddrive vid card mother bord or powersuply. the comp random reboots when i go to log onto windows and affter it dues it locks up.


the plan to fix get new harddrives a 120 gig and 250 gig
install 120 gig and install windows on it.
if dident fix get new vid card get new power suply
if still dident fix get a new mobo and prossesor then return power suply and vid card if not needed.

    Make sure your RAM is properly seated. Were you digging around inside your computer in the last week or so?

    i will check that out. maybe i will go to 1 stick to check things


    well just installed new hd and it is not installing on it. it gives me a blue screen of death. i guess mo mo bo is dead. dang have to upgrade.

    sorry guys i guess i had a little to much to drink at my friends 21st birth day party yes i had a gigabyte ga-7vrxp with a amd 1800 prossor. now i have a asus a7n8x-e with a amd 2600 everything else is the same 6 120gig hard drives and 1 gig of ram

    You have SIX 120gb HDs? That's one hell of a file server. Do you have them set up in RAID? And on what controller?

    The Asus board is a fine one, you should be happy with it.

    I have 2 of them running of the mother bords ide channel 1 and 4 of them on a controler card. formated i get 111 gig each of useable space for a grand total of 666 gigs and at least 70%used up anime, music and movies i got all of the hard drives for 40 bucks a piece love mail in rebates then get cc to price match after that.
