Should I get the CS10 or CS20?

Is it worth the price difference for the CS 20? I'm curently leaning for the CS10 for being a bit smaller and of course cheaper, but I'm wondering if I would be missing on a big leap of quality between these speakers? I would be willing to pay more CS20 if the quality is way superior, but I wouldn't if it's just a tiny difference.

The rest of my set:

- Pair of Monitor 70s
- Pair of Monitor 30s
- Sub PSW505
- Onkyo RC270

Also, what's the difference between CS 10/20 series and CS 1/2 series?

Thanks!

+1 you go from 5 1/4 drivers to the 6 1/2s like the 70s have. I love mine.

The cs2 is the proper timbre match for your setup and is pretty much the same as a cs20. The CS center is for the TSI line.

With what your setup is look for the cs2 like DJ said. Its a better match for what you have AND its way cheaper. But if you have to pick between the cs10 and cs20, go with the 20. I have the 20 and its such a nice change over the old onkyo center I had before.

True, the CS20 is not the correct one to get--get the cs2 over the cs1 though. Same difference in quality and performance. Always get the bigger center, especially if you have towers!

Having had both the cs1 and the cs2, the cs2 is a huge improvement.

I agree .... go with the CS2. I have the CS1 and plan on upgrading to the CS2. If you can be patient, you can find it for a price that is not too far above the CS1. One thing to consider is that the CS1 is quite big, but the CS2 is even a bit bigger. I plan to put a shelf above my TV when I get the CS2.

Nice, thanks everyone for all the answers, CS2 it is then!

Quick questions, will my Onkyo RC270 hold up well with this system?

Timbre match was mentioned .. How is timbre match between Monitor 30 and 70? I know driver size is different, and I know obviously my surround won?t be as good as if it was a pair of 40s, but is "driver size" the same as "timbre match"?

Sorry for the "noob" questions, but I'm very new to the quality sound world, and this is my first system.

    Thanks!!

Your 270 should put out some decent power for these speakers, they'll sound better as you play them esp. as they get broken in.

The 30's make great surround speakers to the 70's, I've been running mine in that position for several months now and just now added the 40's to the wide position. I think you'll be very surprised at just how much sound the 30's will put out in the surround position.

I too am running the 70 towers, cs2 center, monitor 30 surrounds, and a onkyo rc270. I have an ed a2-300 subwoofer though.

Everything goes well together. Run audyssey and everything will blend together nicely.

At some point (hopefully in the near future) I am planning to buy a 2 or 3 channel amp to take care of my front stage and leave all the receiver power for the rear channels.
