Calibration question (possible TV question as well)

So, I received my new 50" VT20 on Tuesday. I've noticed that every 30-60 minutes roughly, the screen blanks out completely for perhaps a 10th of a second? Just long enough for me to notice I guess, but I wouldn't call it extended by any means.
I don't see the TV searching for signal (like an HDMI handshake), and I do not notice any symptoms that tell me loss of signal (no digitization or scrolling signal loss - just boom and its gone).
I'm currently connected via Component cables until I get my new SC-37, then I will convert to all HDMI.
2 questions. First, has anyone else ever heard of something like this? Panasonic didn't jump out and say it's a known issue, or here is how you fix it. They want me to swap cables (BRP is HDMI currently), and see if the issue goes away. I think that isn't the issue, but I will certainly find out when I re-cable everything for the new receiver. If you're wondering why recable... its for cable management. Right now I've got all different sizes, lengths and colors - and some are laying on the floor, others are dangling halfway up the wall because they are too shirt.
My second question is: Panasonic says since it did this right out of the box, don't claim warranty repair, just bring it back to BB and get a different one. If I jot down all of my calibration settings - will this get me to where I am now? Or is each TV a little different, and thus - needs to be calibrated per individual set?
Thanks in advance.

I'd definitely take it back. If your player is plugged directly into the TV and it still glitches the signal, it sounds like something is wrong with your TV. And if it does it on all sources, that's a pretty bad sign.
All sets will have some variation in the picture out of the factory. Although the newer ones should be more consistent. Depends on how picky you are about your settings. -
I actually just swapped the TV out. Found out they have discontinued these already in preperation for the next model. Fortunately they had 1 left.
I'll have to upgrade my signature to reflect that I now have 5 pairs of 3D glasses.... oops
