Side Panels on SDA 2Bs Fell off

When I bought these 2Bs, the previous owner said he took the side panels off to redo the cloth, but wound up not having time so he just glued'em on again. He must've done a crumby job cuz they fell off. What kind of adhesive should I use to get them back on? Any tips or suggestions on the process?

liquid nails and lay on sides with heavy weights facing up. easy on the glue so it does not squeeze excess out the sides. let dry overnight.

If you EVER want to remove them in the future........nix on the liq. nails idea!:eek: I suggest that you use some very thin gauge brads 5/8" in length to hold them on with. if you carefully "set" them through the cloth, they will be invisible, but the panels will be easy to pry off later.;)

Interesting. I was considering re-clothing my 2Bs and was wondering how to get the side panels off. Guess they are just glued on ... and now I have ideas how to get them back on.

Beaver spit! Works wonders on wood even in high humidity environments.
Easily removed for access later.
I like the brad ideas best. Once you glue them down they're pretty much stationary. -
Well they were glued in the first place and still fell off.. and it's not that hard to make new panels..I just tossed the old ones away went to home depot cut some new ones re clothed them and glued them in place with a little liquid nail. you don't need a lot of it to hold them in place...

Have to remove them? the whole idea is to make them stationary so there is no vibration noise. but I suppose if you have a house full of cats, dogs or kids and you have to re-cloth them regularly then you might use this.

Mine peeled off on their own from the top, and even worse the cloth came unglued. I tried to get the cloth back on but it was hopeless. The side panels were warped so they would not stay on even after regluing. I finally got fed up with them and retired them. They might be a future renovation project.
