Dual voltage

I have a stereo power amp (class a/b) which is described as having a transformer with a dual voltage power supply, namely 70/40 volts. What exactly does that mean? What is the purpose of a dual voltage design.

Hey Rubin,
I would image it is referring to the secondary side of the AC transformer. The incoming voltage is 120 Volts, the transformer converts this to two voltages, 70 and 40 Volts. Then these AC voltages will be converted to DC, filtered and possibly regulated. Some parts of the amp will use the higher voltage and others the lower one.
I hope this is helpful information.
