Selling my very nice Carver power amp. It will be hard to sell this because it did a great job bringing my Polk RTi12's to life. Amp is in great condition, meters work.Meter lights work. Sounds nice! Cosmetically, some lettering missing in front(see pictures). I do not have the original box or manual. This is one great amp to power those large Polk's out there. Many of you out there know the quality of Carver and the sound.Believe me, this will make a differance going from a receiver to this to power them.:D Asking $325.00 plus actual shipping. I will eat the paypal fees.

Hmm... would this be an upgrade over a Rotel RB991?

I have no experience at all with the Rotel, but I recently acquired a TFM-35x from another CP member and I love it! It replaced a pair of Adcom monoblocks that had issues and I am more than happy with it. In fact, rather than look for a replacement Adcom, I am thinking hard about buying another of these Carver amps so that I can use them as monblocks.

Interested? Hell yeah, I wouldn't mind using it with the a500x to bridge the fronts but then I think I have about $2K in amps not being used atm...

sold to me!! :D now I need to know what pre to use with it.....c-1? c-6? I will be using my monitor 10's with the rebuilt crossovers with this amp. I'm interested to see how it compares to the Adcom 555 I'm using now.

Only you will be able to say which you prefer the Adcom or the Carver, The only certain thing is that they will sound different.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I'm not sure which Carver pre amps have a remote, but I don't think the C-1/C11 does. Join up over at http://www.carveraudio.com and I'm sure one of the guys over there can fill you in with any info you need.

Finally picked up the amp and just hooked it up. It is just starting to warm up. The bass sounded a little thin at first but is getting better. Led Zeppelin "no quarter" sounded great! I'm just using my JVC HT amp for a pre right now. I imagine it will sound much better when I put a Carver pre into the mix. Thanks Dave!:D

I'll pretty much guarantee the Carver pre would sound much better. I own a Carver C-11 and it sounds so much better when using it vs. the pioneer VSX 84TXSi as a pre.

Give it some time to burn in. I do not know about the bass because it sounded great but then again I am running two mirage subs. I noticed that with my setup eventhough I have RTI'12s as fronts setting the fronts to small and letting my two subs take all the low frequency really makes the bass perform. This is true even with my Parasound amp. No knock against jvc but they do not perform well as a pre or amp. Thanks Tony for the great transaction and I am glad that the amp got to you in one piece.Enjoy the music.:)

I have a harman kardon pm665 that I'm going to try as a pre until I find a Carver.
