If your thinking about getting a 3D TV think again. Check this out.

Sony warns about health effects of 3d technology

If Sony and others are saying (in a round about way) 3D TV's and such are bad for you why are they selling them ? Didn't they do any research ?

I guess it really is all about the dollar, It's obvious they don't care as long as we buy there crap and don't or can't sue them when there crap injures someone. Don't you just love big corporations.

Sorry about my little rant but this kind of crap really bug's me.

    lmao!!

    I'll say it again...

I really don't see this 3D technology taking off.

If in home 3D ever becomes a household thing, it's not going to be in this current format.

Count me as one of the people that feels sick from this 3D technology. I've tried a few different 3D sets in stores, and each one left me feeling cross eyed and dizzy.

I agree, If 3D's to take off it'll have to be REAL 3D holographic or something like that.

The stupid glass's alone keep me from even checking these things out.

This goes along great with me already being pissed that best buy tries to sell a 7000 dollar set and they dont have functioning glasses or a decent setup with it. Light tubes pounding down on you and the tv as you try to watch so there is no effect at all.

Hopefully gen 3 of consumer 3D technology will be better. The current gen 1 based on the instore demo's I have tried is awful. They've got it going on in the movie theaters though, I enjoy it there.

Then I guess yall better give up playing video games too---Seizures can be triggered with certain flashing lights or strobes- and that has nothing to do with whether its 2D or 3D. Actually doesn't even require a TV since apparently emergency vehicle strobes can trigger the same.

In the theater, 3D does not bother me, but my wife says it does give her a headache, so I would think it really has nothing to do with the 3D TV technology but rather the 3D tech itself. So if you have no problems with 3D in the movie theater then my guess is you probably won't have any problems at home-of course I haven't had the chance to try out one of the new 3D TVs in stores yet and I understand they are a differnt kind of 3d tech so I don't know. But I am eager for the tech to mature and the prices to drop.

Read the warning labels on just about any product made and you'll see crazy warnings on things--Most things that are deemed safe everywhere else seem to be dangerous in California because of being a potential carcinogen. I thin CA might even list a cottonball as a potential carcinogen. ;)--I mean most extension cables carry this warning and they tell you to wash you hands after handling---So how many people wash there hands after every time they touch a cable? How many are in fear from getting cancer from those things and ban them from their homes?? How can those cable companies still sell products that are known to be unsafe??

I think because this is new tech, and probably also from a big name company, that people will make a mountain out of a molehill just because. Actually I think these companies are just showing forethought to avoid lawsuits, and warning of potential issues becuase some people have experienced them, this way the consumer can make an informed choice. Its really no different than all the warnings you see on prescriptions--I mean nearly every prescription includes something to the effect that death could occur.:eek:. How can those drug companies still sell products that are known to be unsafe??

Did any body mention the potential health effects from sitting on your a$$ all day long watching TV and playing video games? Or what about hairy palms??? How can the **** industry still sell products that are known to be unsafe??

Did I mention the auto industry? How can they still sell cars that are known to be the cause of so many accidents and deaths??

I say that if you are looking for a 3D TV, try them out in the store first, perhaps even ask if you can try out a 2D show or game in 3D mode--if you have a problem, then pass. Of course if you already bought a 3D TV from Sony, and this warning came out after you bought it and you are experiencing said issues, then you might be able to return it (who knows?).
