    James my good man,

While I have no interest whatsoever in this particular preamp, if it's a local to US good deal, I wouldn't mind a PM or email before you offer my free packing and shipping services to these cretins. Capiche? I have a huge Ignore List that will be strictly adhered to as well.

You wouldn't want to be in the same room with me if I had to pack something for you that I coveted, and didn't get a chance to peruse.

    James, I can see it now . . . :eek::D

Just found this thread...not exactly sure what the protocol is here?

Is it acceptable to post a link (Craigslist) for speakers that I am selling? I would clearly indicate that they are my own. Or will this be considered spam?

FWIW, I have yet to reach 100 posts here on CP, so don't think I can yet post to the Classifieds here...

TIA, and apologies if I'm breaking any Forum rules...

Not sure, but I think it's not a great idea. Very good of you to ask beforehand! Best of luck.

Thanks for the quick reply - will hold off then, unless someone else has different info that works in my favor? :o

Otherwise, I'll just wait until 100 posts (seventeen more!) before venturing into classifieds...

Good idea to hold off even though as a member nearly 4 years it's obvious you didn't join just to run up your post count just to hawk your stuff.
Out of curiousity, are yours the ones in Redmond?

Hmm interesting scenario--I think actually, that since he joined before the change in post count rules, that he was already eligible to post in the FS section--Grandfathered if you will.

Yes, I don't post here that often, since joining Sept 2006, though have been a bit more active lately. Plus, I figured a Polk member would better appreciate some quality used Polk gear!

And yes, that is my listing in Redmond...thanks for asking.

Off-topic: I'm hoping to get the new A7's hooked up before this w/e! Though I've seen them locally at Fry's (and heard on many occasions), the cherry finish on the A7 is even more stunning our media room (link to pic)...Polk really did a great job with them.

I wasn't aware of this. Should I post a Classified, and mention this in case someone calls foul? I emailed a moderator some time ago about "posting early" when my post count was 60-ish, but never heard back...

I don't see how anyone can get their panties in a wad with you being here almost four years. You motives are obviously not to dump and run.

When the rules were changed from 25 posts to 100, it was also suggested that a certain time period be attached for just this type of situation.

Perhaps you should PM Patrick C directly as he is in charge of the mods and is usually pretty quick to respond.

PM'd him about a month ago in regards to another matter (bad experience w/ another forum member), but did ask him at that time about selling here with my low post count. Since seeing this thread today, I just sent him another PM asking specifically about any grandfather clause. Maybe I'll just go ahead and post in the Classifieds this evening to get the ball rolling...got to sell the old gear somehow!

Thanks to all of you that have helped me out here, it's appreciated.

Update: Apparently there's an automatic system in place that prevents me from posting to Classifieds, specifically due to <100 post count. Here's the message that greeted me:

To create new threads in this forum your post count must be 100 or greater. Your post count is 85 momentarily.

So I guess there is no grandfather clause, or maybe they toggle this feature on/off on an as-granted basis. Oh well... :(

    ...

When I mentioned Grandfathered-it was more with how things might be accepted by the forum members and the mods, rather than any technical limits that might be in place on the forum. I would guess that the post limits are all or nothing and can't be changed per memeber.

So with that I don't see any reason why you would be in trouble if you posted your link to your CL ad here--I'm not a governing official or anything so my saying so really means nothing, but its my opinion on things.

Besides right now you only have 7 posts to go--you can handle that in no time if you don't want to chance any wrath.

:) Hm, looks similar to an auction that's about to end, too. Too bad the seller couldn't post them exclusively here first, just to give fellow Polkies first shot at them...
