Hi All:

I just put together a home theater setup in my finished basement. As part of the setup, I purchased an onyko TSXR 608 receiver. I can get a few fm stations andam stations in my basement hooking up the included fm and am antennaes.

Is there a way to get better signals down in the basement without elaborate wiring. Are there other antennaes out there that are not expensicvev that I can purchase as accessories that will give me a signal?

Also, I can add Sirius radio with an accessory. Does anybody know if I will have a similar reception problem as to not get a signal down there?

Thanks for your advice.

Any type of wire can act as antenna. Run an 18gauge speaker wire upstairs to check for best placement.

The Magnum Dynalab ST-2 exterior antenna runs about $100.00. You won't believe what you can pick up.

Best bet is to run RG-6 coax up to the outside of the house and hook it to some type of external antenna. I can be as simple as a homemade half wave dipole (use google) mounted somewhere that isn't too conspicuous, or a pre-made antenna that is mounted on the roof.

My solution as stated in more depth in another thread is to hookup my Dell Studio laptop to my Onkyo 608 thru the receiver's front HDMI port and stream Sirius and AOL radio stations.

See my last post in the following thread: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103921

    Thanks everyone for your help!
