Download the small free Carbon Copy Cloner app. (if you love it you should donate a few bucks)

Buy any external USB hard drive from Best Buy that is at least as big as the data you have on your Mac. (doesn't have to be as big as your computers hard drive. Meaning if you have a 2TB drive but only 50GB of data then you only need a 60GB external USB drive)

Connect the USB hard drive.

Open the program and copy the data over. Wait about an hour or so till done.

Close the app and unplug the USB drive.

Take it to your bank's safety deposit box for safe keeping and get it outta of the house.

You're done!
