Mounting RTi38s to the top of speaker stands?

I want to mount a set of RTi38s on top of a pair of 36" Wood Technology speaker stands. I ordered the optional larger wood mount-plates with the stands so they would cover the complete bottom side of the speakers when I set the speaker on top of the stand.

My question is: What do I use to hold the speaker to the wood mount-plate on the top of the speaker stand? I really hate to run screws into the bottom of these speakers, and I don't want to just place the speakers on top of the stands ... Someone may knock the speaker off of the stand if they bump up against them.

Rubber Stoppers(clear or black) are available at home depot or any of your local hardware store. They are very inexpensive (around $3.00). I hate leaving steaker marks on my speakers so, I stuck them on the stand and it worked fine.

I think that the 38's on 36" stands is going to be way too top heavy! Even if they don't fall off the stands, if someone bumps them, the speaker + stand will come crashing to the floor.

Blu-Tack

The best option for speaker to stand coupling.

Agreed, I wouldn't have 38's on a stand taller than 24". And even at that height, they better be sand/shot fillable.

I am a little concerned about the 38s on these stands, but they seem to be pretty stable. The Wood Technology stands have a fairly large bottom base plate.

Do you think Blu-Tack would be avail at Home Depot?

office depot, wal-mart... it's more of an office supply item...

it's commonly used to tack flip chart pages to walls.
