OK,
Too much gear again. Wife wants her dining room table back (since its loaded with gear)

What I'd like to do is sell a complete system to someone who is looking to set up a real deal 2-ch system on a budget. This will be an all Yamaha system with preamp, amp, CD changer and a real nice set of full range Pinnacle speakers. This will be local (Atlanta) area deal only since its too much to ship all this.

Here is what the system will include:
Speakers: Pinnacle PN-15. 4-way, full range floor standing speakers with excellent wood finish. Arrangement is a 10" woofer (ported enclosure), a mid-range dome, a fabric dome tweeter, and a poly super-tweeter for above 18kHz. These have Audax drivers throughout and are a real nice sounding speaker. They could probably be made excellent with some crossover upgrades. I had plans, but never got around to it.

(here is a thread where I talked about these Pinnacles:http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1321500 )

Pre-Amp: Yamaha C-50, in very good condition. Serviced throughout by me. Cleaned all switches/pots/contacts and relays. This is a very quiet, full featured preamp with a nicely adjustable phono section. It was second only to the C-70 back in '82.

Amp: Yamaha M-45, serviced by me, adjusted, etc. In very good condition. Makes 125/150/180 watts/ch into 8/6/4 ohms respectively, red led power meters on front. A basic solid construction Yamaha amp from the mid 80s. Plenty of power for most speakers (including the Pinnacles).

CD Player: Yamaha CDC-845, in great condition, tray belt just replaced. This may be Yamaha's best CD changer ever. Has Pro-Bit translation, dual S-bit DACs, Class A outputs, etc. Comes with remote. Plays CD-Rs with no problem.

I'll throw in some 12GA speaker cable and a couple sets of decent quality interconnects.

Price: $400 for everything (C-50/M-45/CDC-845/Pinnacle PN-15/Cables) local pickup only. Can audition everything.

If you are interested in Vinyl or FM, I also have some turntables and/or tuners that I could deal into the package.

Pics posted tonight.

That Yamaha amp and pre-amp are excellent classic pieces. My mother had both of them in her vintage system at our old house and they could really sing. Smooth, sweet, and musical. Nothing like Yamaha gear today. Somebody will be in for a real treat

In lieu of actual photos, here are some links to brochures for the preamp and amp:
    The C-50 is shown/discussed here:
    http://www.sportsbil.com/yamaha/c-x0_m-x0_t-x0-b.pdf
    The M-45 is here:
    http://www.sportsbil.com/yamaha/c45-c65-c85-m45-m65-m85-t85.pdf
    CDC-845 is here:

I should mention that the Yamaha C-50 has a very nice headphone output as well. It made my Senn 580s sound almost as good as my stand alone Little Dot headamp.

    Great deal....

I'm going to call my buddy right now...

His mini system broke down last week (finally!) and he's looking for something.
    Sounds good to me...

Ok, here are some quick photos. Sorry they are not the best. It was bath time and I was loosing the natural light. ;)

The gear is not perfect, but it is all in very good shape for its age and definitely living room presentable. Front faces are all very clean.

In case you didn't see the photos of the speakers in the other thread:

These speakers are pretty rare and really may be worth my asking price alone. How good do they sound? Well, they were pretty close to replacing my SDA-1C, but I just couldn't talk myself into doing it.

I was just about to say the same thing Pycroft. To bad the Yammy stuff is local only or I would grab it for a bedroom rig...

Very nice system! I just bought a C-50 the other day, and I'm really digging it! Just wanted to say thanks for the PDF on the pre-amps!

    BBw..

You may as well be giving that gear away at those prices...dirt cheap I'd say! I agree with John above a nice COMPLETE system for someone or a great second room 2 channel. If I weren't on the other side of the earth I might consider it myself, one of my best friends lives in Atlanta.

    Good Luck with the sale!

If you will ship it, I would be interested in all of it.

For now, I'm going to keep the package together. Shipping is not going to happen either. The speakers are fairly large (bigger than Mon 7) and heavy (close to 50lbs each). It would take substantial effort to pack them properly and I'm not willing to do that yet.

Goodness, this is so sad as this is a nice set-up. If it weren't the fact that I am in Canada and would have to deal with shipping and border problems I would have jumped on this little system. I hope someone is wise enough to jump on this offer before it is too late.

    Cheers!

I have the same exact Yamaha amp. It's a great sounding powerful clean amp. I like it. The Knight Rider looking lights are fantastic.

OK, I'll consider separating these pieces, but I'm still giving 1st preference to local deals and will not ship the speakers. Obviously not as good a deal as with the original package price.
    Speakers: $250
    C-50: $100
    M-45: $150
    CDC-845+remote: $70

Did I mention that the C-50 and M-45 are international versions with adjustable voltage?

One last bump for the Pinnacle PN-15. Great speakers for the money. If no one wants them, I'll just pack them away. $225 for them? Locals only.

Ok, I promise this will be the absolute last bump for these Pinnacle PN-15 speakers.

Still available, beautiful real wood finish, excellent Audax drivers. Just barely larger than a set of Monitor 7, but much more powerful bass.

$200, no lower, still local only.

In case you missed it, here is the brochure page for reference.

According to the ad, Pinnacle was/is located at the Hauppauge Industrial Park. That is the same industrial park where I worked for Lafayette Radio Electronics around 1970. Dahlquist was also located there for awhile.

Pinnacles are all over-achievers in my book. The towers and center channel that I had here a short while ago were excellent.

I just remembered that I had a ice cream route in Hauppauge, and I used to caddy at Hauppauge Country Club. All in another life.

Ok, I have a thought. I can open this up beyond locals, but only under certain conditions.

I am traveling later this week and through the 4th of July on my annual journey to Michigan with the family. I will be passing through Nashville, Louisville, Indy, Grand Rapids, Flint, Traverse City, Detroit, Toledo, Cincinnati, Lexington, Knoxville and everywhere in between along the I-75/I-24/I-65/I-69 corridors.

If there is anyone who lives in one of those areas and can meet on my schedule, I will bring the speakers along to sell. PM me for details of when/where I will be and maybe we can work something out.
