This is a huge loss for heavy metal. One of the godfathers.

one of my favorite metal vocalists this is sad.

67 ?!?!
Ronnie James Dio was about the only person who, IMO, could have stepped into Ozzy's shoes and kept Sabbath working.
I've linked this video before, but here's one for RJD: "Neon Knights"

I was a big fan back in the 80's! Remember seeing them and Megadeth at the Omni in Atlanta on the Dream Evil tour. Sorry to hear of his passing.--Gary--

RIP Mr. Dio, you put on some amazing performances.

No one could replace Ozzy and I thought the Ronnie James Dio Sabbath was lesser than original Sabbath. That being said, I enjoyed him in Rainbow and enjoyed his solo stuff. He had a unique, powerful voice and was a pretty good frontman.

RIP Ronnie......One of the best memories of him was in the early 90's & they played the pecan street festival on 6th street........just a fantastic show & a very crazy crowd......that was when they just started the "noise" ordinance here in Austin ...... they unplugged him cause he went past the ordinance time.......... he was hotter than hell....... they had the riot police close at hand & quickly dispersed the crazy rock & rollers ......
LONG LIVE ROCK & ROLL -
I don't know if there's any truth in this, but I had heard his voice was so powerful in some recording sessions, he actually broke the microphones. He definitely sang with authority.
Pure BS

The only reason I know who he is is from the Pick of Destiny and soundtrack. Jack Black has got some serious vocal talents himself."Dr Dunn admitted that his research could also be interpreted as evidence that women are shallower than men. He said: "Let's face it - there's evidence to support it."Best Buy is for people who don't know any better. Magnolia is for people who don't know any better and have more money to spend.

Saw him here at the Blaisdell back in the 80s during his Sacred Heart tour. Dropped a hit of vitamin A and was completely tripping to the pyrotechnics and the dragon battle sequence. It's a wonder I ever survived that decade.

I agree with that totally. The Ozzy/Tony Iommi combo was the best, IMO.
Heck, they defined heavy metal for me.
RJD did an excellent job of representing himself, though, and rocked for a long, long time. He done good.Sal Palooza -

The Heaven and Hell "Live at Radio City Music Hall" from 2007 shows Ronnie at his best. He could still hit the high notes at his age. I've been listening to his music all day. We will miss him badly.
