Anyone want to trade their sl2000t's for orginal sl2000s? I just got two replacement sl2000t's to try out based on Russman's threads and I agree with him. I have about 10 sl2000's that I need to replace that work for sure and like 4-5 more that I haven't tested, a couple are dead because i did replace them, but they are all in the same pile. So that is a lot of sl2000t's to buy which is why I would like to swap out sl2000's for the T's if you have them.
I would be willing to sell them all for 1/2 the cost of my replacements as well. So that would be $250 and you can have them all. Although you would probably have to wait till I get my replacements to get them.
As for my sda-srs 2.3's and crs, etc. I have decided to keep them and replace the tweeters in them.

If it is worth it to you, I believe I have one SL2000T that I'd be willing to trade straight up for a 2000. We'd each just pay shipping. The T is the current 'replacement' for the old 2000, is that correct? If so, I'm sure that is what I have, if I have one, but I'm pretty sure I do.
I'm running three SL2000s across my front soundstage (one each in two Monitor 7Cs and one in my homemade center). But my 'reserve' tweeter' is a 2000T. I'd like to have an actual extra 2000 rather than the T.

lol sorry, I forgot to say I already did in my crs+s. I, much like Russ find the sl2000t to be a much smoother sounding tweeter. In fact, I ran an informal dbl test and found in the higher frequencies a bump of almost 6dbls on the same speaker.
But the real test is in hearing. I popped in a cd of a female korean singer. I was actually laughing inside when I heard a couple of her songs. When I played them again with the new tweeters, I found the songs to be less expressive. The reason why is that where the frequency jumps in the sl2000 is close to where she sings some of her higher notes, so that when she starts to sing those particular notes the volume of her voice was actually louder. I had always assumed she took a larger breath, puffed out her chest, and belted those notes louder so she could hit them (hence the expression/emotion)...turns out with the sl2000t's, the same song had her singing at close to the same volume.
So of course I broke out all my favorite cds...and I was suprised at what I heard. As I was singing along, I found myself suprised at how many of the songs my memory had with the same issue. I had never thought of it as a problem, but I actually found myself enjoying the sound of the sl2000t more than the sl2000.
Which is why I am trading/selling all my sl2000's
