Up for grabs is a Carver M-1.5T amp I have been using this amp with my 1.2 TL's for a month or so now and I can barely get it past the first set of lights no matter how loud I crank it nor can I make it run hot, and I recently hooked it up to a pair of 4 ohm ADS L810's and it never broke a sweat at ear bleeding levels, it may be possible to make the top set of lights come on with a pair of Infinity Kappas into a 1 ohm load or some other particularly demanding speaker but it should suffice for virtually all semi normal listening habits other than maybe Sal's :p

Here are a few specs 350 wpc at 8 ohms 600 wpc at 8 ohms maximum it can borrow 150 wpc power from either channel if need be for a total of 750 watts into a single channel and has virtually every kind of protection for the amp and your speakers known to mankind.

$350.00 + shipping. payment via USPS Money order

Pics to follow if there is interest.

Disclaimer....

I hate to do this but this amp is for sale exclusively to members with a minimum of 500 posts and one year of membership. This is done not to punish new members but to reward those who have taken an active interest in keeping this forum alive.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Yes it is an amazing little amp no doubt.

I am not sure what the specs are at 4 ohms I have read it is 500 wpc X 2 and up to 600 per channnel also or 750 wpc into any single channel but not knowing for sure I dont want to make stuff up. It will run a 4 ohm load easily though :p

The M 1.5t is one of the most well regarded and sought after Carver amps out there guys. There is also an upgrade being done that can get even more out of it, but I do not have the details on that. There is also "factory" support for it as Rita Helm and Bob Carver have opened a repair shop for all his old gear if needed. If asked, Bob will even sign it for you.

Great amp and an even better guy to buy from. Buy with confidence.

    Good luck with the sale.

Thanks for the kind words and I know that some people understand and respect what I am doing newcomers and oldtimers alike and others feel like im being snobby and a jerk by not selling to anyone who wants it.

I have this for sale at two other forums that I frequent and support and if you happen to be a Subscribing member at AudioKarma you can purchase it there with a single post count and one day of membership in Barter town, it cost $25.00 a year for a subscription so I feel that by getting one you are supporting keeping the forum going and that is what I am looking for. Or if you are a member at the Carversite forum I have a minimum 50 post count there required simply because it is a new forum and no time limit.

I will make an exception to "ANYONE" who wants this amp or no matter their post count or time here with this requirement.

Make a $25.00 minimum donation to GG's kids also known as the Githens Center.

You can either send the money to George Grand or you can donate directly to the Githens Center here.

https://githenscenter.dojiggy.com/donations/index.cfm?EventID=4565 If you decide to donate directly to the Githens center please copy and paste the donation receipt.

Ok here a few pics, I noticed when I took the top off that Bob Carver had dated the birth of this amp with his gold pen not sure if he did it on all these amps or not but this one is dated 10-23-85 It does have a few scratches here and there but is overall in pretty nice shape :)

I remember Carver dating back to the original M400. The M1.5T was indeed a better sounding amp than my M 1.5. I also had an M200t. I was listening to the T amps extract incredibly great performance from many speakers back in the day. The "T" mod represented to me, Carvers first great, high-end sounding amps.

Hello everybody,,, I'm Mike H. and am new to this forum/blog mainly because I'm an old audiophile that after a five year hiatus is coming right back to the fold and that is to this great passion of ours, music and music equipment/stereo gear. Guys I'm taking my Carver C1 Pre-Amp and my Carver M1.5T Power Amp out of the closet again and I need to find out all the information about being able to put it back to specs. I love this Carver gear, it has served me so well for so many decades now. Now there is a nice fellow here in this forum, Noonshinjohn from Boiler Country, Indiana, that mentions that Bob Carver has opened a shop of his own to do exactly what I need to do for my Carver gear, refurbish it!! Please guys send me all pertinent information about this,,, I want to send Bob Carver my amp/pre-amp for him to put it back to specs as new. Please guys, send me this information, it will be so appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
