That is basically a rebadged Clearaudio Emotion TT with a Clearaudio Virtuoso Ebony Wood Cartridge. An excellent piece of gear. When I upgrade my next TT will be a Clearaudio.

Thanks all. I have been looking for a while now and keep coming back to this table.

I have to believe it will be a huge step up from my 70s Technics. I have enjoyed it greatly and the Denon DL-160 is no slouch but I believe it is time.

I guess this will make the CA 640P the next weakest link.

If any of you get a chance to listen to Willis Jackson Nothing Butt please do. It is fantastic. It is Jazz I think but it is great. Mostly Sax and organ but the guy can wail.

It is a little tweaked compared to the original Emotion :-) Bigger feet, thicker platter, stuff like that.

Nice piece for the $ and (not coincidentally) my daily vinyl driver, too.

Beautiful Tracy! At first glance I was wondering where the platter was. LOL! Good luck and I know you are going to love the sound of it. Don't forget to give us a reveiw.

Steve I guess I'll never be able to get you to check out VPIs tables huh?

I have heard a couple of VPIs (Scout and Scoutmasters) and they are very nice. But...I know the direction I want to go and that is with Clearaudio...for a variety of reasons...one of which is I like the way they look.

The VPIs are exceptionally nice, but cost more (than the entry-level Clearaudios).

The Clearaudios that I've heard sound really nice. I'm a big proponent of their "Twister Clamp."

I gotta get you some shims for that clamp Ben right after I get a set out to George D. I promised a set to him first and I'm having a little problem digging up a full set of three different sizes but I will find them.

I've heard that Marantz table at a local HiFi shop and I know you will be very happy. A clamp is definitely in order and the Clearaudio Twister comes very highly recommended.

    Tracy,

Nice pickup man! I was eyeing that very same table on the Gon and came very close to submitting an offer on it. I decided to pickup a new cartridge and phono pre instead (Soundsmith modified Dynavector DV20XH with ruby stylus and Jolida JD-9A with Mullard tubes). I'm glad to see someone in the CP family picked that up! Enjoy!

That my friend is a great snag. Soundsmith makes highly acclaimed cartridges with emphasis on the most minor of details and tolerances. I would imagine that the moded Dynavector is really going to be something special and you couldn't have made a better choice on the Jolida pre/cartridge combo as it takes into consideration the weakness of each device and compensates thus making it a really good compliment to each other.

There was one here on cragis list but, the cart was replaced with a grado green. I think they wanted 850 but, i thought the cart, that came with the unit was supposed to be excellent.
