No point in soiling another pair, so don't change your shorts just quite yet. Craters and Freighters......probably run in the $350 to $400 range to crate and ship. Dirt cheap if you ask me.

Dave and I used C & F and it cost me $265 to ship the 2.3tls from Arizona to Ohio. Not too bad at all

I'm looking to set up a 2 channel system in my bedroom, and these amazings would work superbly, if the freight is reasonable. I'll look into shipping cost and verify what the overall cost would be.

Guys,, I spoke with Jerry yesterday about the sale,, and the amps are 9T's,,and they are not for sale. However, might I suggest that for the price of the 9T's,, some really good sound can be had with tubed mono's,,I have ran them with much success when I had em with a pair of VTL Compact mono 100's($ 1000) and Jerry has been running them with a pair of VTL Mono 100's(larger chassis) same power,,100 watts,,and they sound much better IMHO.(compared to the 9T's)
Just food for thought.BTW-- these are much easier to drive than the "Original Amazings)

I was considering biamping mine with some glass on the ribbons and sand on the subs. I bet it would sound pretty sweet. But for now I'm just driving them with 4 9t's, and it ain't too shabby...

Yep,, I think you are spot on,,the tubes just seem to really smooth out the ribbons,, I wonder how much tube power you would need to just power the ribbons,,hmmm,, those possibilities are interesting, especially if you could power them in triode.

I have an identical pair less the modified wiring, once considered buying this pair from the previous owner but for the long travel involved, and have great success driving them with 180 watt tube monos. George speaks truth that the Plat upgrades make them much easier to drive than they would be with the original 30" ribbon pairs. For a solid state amp I'd still prefer at least 200 watts to begin to fully flesh out the sound. Geez! $800 for the pair with a C-9 included??!? Don't walk, run after this deal!

Hiya Rodney,, good to see you posting,,I'll go ahead and let ya'll know that Jerry sold em' last nite to someone local who responded to his Craigslist ad,,it's a shame that no one in either family picked them up, as they are pretty close to mint.Congrats on the sale Jerry.

I'll bet your Amazings sound just fine with those tube amps,,enjoy.:)

Hi. Been real busy. Need your zipcode to get an estimate for freight if the set is still available. Can you tell me a bit more about the Platinum upgrade? I know about the regular factory units, but platinum upgrades I'm not knowledgeable on... thanks! :)
