Hello everyone.. new to this board. From what I see, there are some really good suggestions on a variety of situations.

I am thinking of regaining most of my trunk space by doing away with my sealed sub enclosure (2 JL 10" W0 's powered by a Power Class 2400 amp)

I would like to go with a single 10" sub in a customized enclosure that fits nicely into the side of the trunk cavity (Volume=0.63 cu. ft.) But I don't want to lose too much power and clarity. I would like to keep the current amp (rated at 400W RMS). I probably don't want to just use one of the W0's. I've been eyeing the Polk/Momo 10" for a while because of it's power handling capability and looks.

What should I do? is there another 10" sub out there that would do the job?

OK... system reconfiguration is almost finished. All that needs to be done is a "beauty box" for the amps / modules. I haven't really fully dialed in the system yet. But so far it sounds great.

Here are a few pics of my setup (1998 VW Passat):
