Anybody have any listening experience with them? What's the general consensus? Just curious...

It depends on what driver you use in it.

    Lowther ($$$$), Fostex ($$), Pioneer/Ratshack ($)....

Check the partsexpress project showcase, they feature a 2-way model.
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Russ, seems like you fancy the cheapy Pioneer 8" in a VP, eh? From what I've read it isn't terrible but then I didn't look very hard

Not to say Lowther isn't nice; but, you know - $$$$

edit - seen the PE project before - crossover, blech! These things are supposed to be cheap and simple!

I was going to build a pair before I made my periscopes. I'll still build them someday though.

I've heard a few pair. They all sounded good. Some even sounded great.

These sound great. A few hundred bucks for wood and Fostex drivers and you're golden. If you want to experiment with less expensive drivers first, I wouldn't blame you. Check your local Radio Shacks and see if they have any full range speakers left.

    Good luck.
