i think this dude went and bought these http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1308628&postcount=862

then reposted them for 300.. For the exact same SDA model to come up within 24 hours would be almost a miracle

I don't know if it is the flash from the camera or what but one looks like oak and the other walnut.

These are original, early run SDA2's, with peerless tweets and fuses... my 2's have SL2000's and polyswitches.
    Ludicrous gibs!

Those are SL-1000's, not Peerless tweets.

Yes, those are original SDA 2's though. Dimensional tweeters, which a lot of people don't like. Many other people love them though. I've never heard any SDA's with Dimensional tweets, so I can't say. So, they may or may not be your cup of tea. Either way, the crossovers can be modified to disable the dimensional tweets if you find yourself to not like them.

$300 is a bit on the high side. $150-200 would be more appropriate IMO.

All I did to disable my dimensional tweets was unplug the wires and tape them...

I seem to recall reading that there was a resistor that could be removed/jumpered, and doing so improved the sound.

I may be remembering wrong though...and I don't really feel like searching for the thread...lol

Basically, messing with the resistor (I can't remember if it's add or remove one) will bring the level of the remaining tweeter back up to what it should be. In my case, with the sl2000's, I still find that there's plenty of treble to go around with just a single tweeter at a "lower" level.

You can spend that kind of money and get a lot less speaker these days. With an audition in a good setup you'll see what I mean.
