New guy who's a little curious.
What's wrong with the 5800, I have one & I love it.
It's the same as the 5802, it just has fans, & no fancy gold plate on the front.
They even go for a couple hundred less.
Honestly, I have never heard the fans run.
My 2 cents.
The fans are the big negative for many. -

Yes, I've heard that. I think the people who don't like the fans have never owned a 5800. Mine is absolutely silent. The fans are a non issue. -
The fan noise did worry me a bit and now I'm just excited to get the beast and try it out. first weekend of april she will be MINE! woohoo

It's not the same as the 5802, by the way.

The 5802 and 750 are very special Adcom pieces. They are by far the best sounding, most musical stuff Adcom put out. Of course with the help of Nelson Pass.
And yes, the 5802 is a more refined version of the 5800 which is still a nice amp, except for the fan issues that sometimes crop up.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. I'm very excited to get my ears on this beast. Well as long as I can lug it into my place I'll be good. Knowing me I'll end up dropping it on my head somehow and be killed by audio.
but anways, thanks again Ben!
