Also - the link you posted is the newer S2 series. That model can be found online already for just over a grand with no tax and free shipping. I've heard the new G20/25 series is also supposed to look incredible. If you can wait a bit, I would wait for the G series to hit the market.Chris

I would also recommend the Panny's. I am about to pull the trigger on a 65" Panny right now, and I saw it on display in BB, the picture was amazing.

My tc-p50s1 is my second plasma. My first is 5 years old. I played ps3 on both of them daily, and never had any burn in problems what so ever.. And I leave it on while playing music all the time.
I think burn in is a thing of the past.Living Room setup: Pioneer Elite VSX-21TXH, Krell KAV 300i, PS Audio DL III DAC, Tyler Acoustics Taylo 7u, Dynaudio Audience 120C+, SVS 25/31PCI, B-P-T Clean Power Center, Ps3, Panny 50" S1 Plasma, Tekline speaker cables, Audio Art interconnects, and Pangea power cables. -
+1 on the Plasmas, they're an excellent deal right now.
I'd go with Samsung, the colors are more vibrant.~Dan
Projector: Epson 705HD on 106" DaLite

At that distance, I would say 46 inch diagonal minimal; 50 inches is probably good, 52 inch probably ideal in terms of how right picture size will look to your eye at that viewing distance.
Go to big box store and just stand or sit at your viewing distance and see if picture size seems right to your eye. -
Okay, well the wife and I went out looking at TV's today and we ended up coming home with the Samsung 52", 1080P TOC LCD. Did everything in my power to try and talk her into the Panny Plasma but I just couldn't sell her on it. With our living room upstairs we have alot of light that comes into play from the front windows and she didn't think the Plasma was going to be bright enough to over come the lighting in the room. I have to admit though, the Samsung looks amazing upstairs. The one thing that sold her was the built in swivel base, not quit sure why because here shortly I'm gonna hang it on the wall but as long as she's happy, I'm happy. It was on sale for $1499 from $1899 and we saved an additional $150 off of the $1499 price. Here is a link to the one we picked up from Costco.

Nice grab!!!! You'll be very happy with the picture quality. I had the samsung 650 and loved it. Only negative was some clouding issues.

Wife and kids are watching Monsters, Inc. on BD now on the new Samsung and Holy Hell, what a picture. If my projector looked anything like the picture I see right now you'd never get me out of my room. Still love my room as well as my projector but I have a feeling I'll be doing alot more watching of television upstairs which by the way will be a good thing due to keeping the hours down on my projector.Money Talks, Mine says Goodbye Rob!!!!

Not a horrible choice. I have the Samsung 46" 550 and the 46"B6000 LED.... they're pretty damn good on their LCDs.Main Surround -

You know how much I love my JVC bro, wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.Money Talks, Mine says Goodbye Rob!!!! -

That's what I was gonna say. My regular TV has a great picture compared to what else I have seen out there, but the PJ destroys it in so many ways.

Hopefully one day projectors will have plasma like picture quality. Until then the size will have to win me over.
How's the picture compared to your old tv? -
First off, I was clearly joking about being as good as my projector guys, guess I should have thrown in a smiley face. The samsung is a great tv but in my opinion comes no where close to that true theater experience as I get with my projector. I'm willing to bet my projector comes as close to a plasma tv as owning a plasma and Sherard can tell ya as he's seen it first hand. The thing I love about the samsung is no matter what conditions are outside, the samsung really shines upstairs. How does it compare to the Mitsubishi I just sold, there is no comparison, the samsung wins hands down. Overall I completely happy with the samsung and I would strongly urge others to take a look at one if your in the market for a new tv.Money Talks, Mine says Goodbye Rob!!!!

I am really happy with my new Samsung PN50B860 Plasma...
Amazing picture.
Plus the fact that it's only 1.2" deep makes the whole think look even better.
PS3 games and Blu-Ray's look awesome on this thing. -

Yeah, smiley faces would've helped.:) I own 2 Pioneer Elite plasma TV's and a JVC RS20 projector for the theater room, and while the theater experience is outstanding the Pioneer plasma brings the flaws out in my JVC.
I was never a black level freak until I bought my first Pioneer plasma. When comparing the two in the same environment I noticed the detail in the blacks on the pioneer was better. Example a black leather jacket on my pioneer I can see alot more of the detail in the grain.
All in all technology has come a long way and I can't wait to see what's next in the tv industry.
Congrats on your purchase and enjoy. -
Congrats on the TV.

I usually just Froogle (Google shopping) whatever I am looking for and it lists all the websites that sell it, and you can organize them in any order you choose from there.
