    "Waiting for Columbus" is coming out on MoFi gold CD, not on SACD I'm sorry to say. Regardless, it should be stellar.

    UFO Strangers is a great live LP or remastered CD. I was actually listening to that yesterday. I just got done listening to Michael Buble at MSG is also a great live recording.

    This one is not a popular one but... rufus wainwright does judy at carnegie hall. Another great live recording.


    Also the Manilow live... ok the music is solid but the sound quality on that LP I thought was not so hot...


    As you all can see by what I have listed in the thread, or my other post... My range is wide.

    For jazz also check out Less McCann & eddie Harris Montreux

    Fleetwood Mac The Dance is still one heck of a live recording The first few seconds with the heavy drum on The Chain WOW. Makes my 1.2's jump and the room shake!

    I watched Eric Clapton and Stevie Winwood at Madison Square Garden on Blu-ray - wow - pretty darn good sounding - not perfect, but pretty darn good - and I liked the camera work too - not the frenetic dizzy ADD shot jumping every 1/2 second you see with other 'rock' videos.

    H9: If you don't trust what you are hearing, then maybe you need to be less invested in a hobby which all the pleasure comes from listening to music.

    i just got done with Paul Weller Live at Alexandra Love that disk especially disk 2. I wish the recording was a tad better though but it is still darn good.

    I wonder why MOFI is re-releasing a vinyl version of "Waiting for Columbus"? Their original release maybe 20 years ago was excellent! As was the original lp.

    A great recording makes for great listening on any format.

    I thought the same thing about "Crime of the Century." The re-release on heavier vinyl takes the original recording to a new and higher level.

    OR;

    Maybe that got their hands on the real original master tape or maybe they are just looking to make more money.:eek:

    If I had one wish to attend a concert I missed? This would be the one. As a youngin', I would listen to this everyday. Plop in the CD or LP and enjoy the entire concert uninterrupted. I must say, the recreation of it sounded rather fine at the Mars Hotel. ;)

    I listened to that lp yesterday,,considering it's age,, etc,, it's a pretty damn good recording,,BTW,,I picked it up from Double G for a few samolians.:)

    Hmmm, I have a 4 disc set from him...."Walking on a Wire" that includes some live tracks. I will have to check them out. I don't recall ever hearing anything from him before, so it will be refreshing to hear something new. Thanks.

    As I type I am listening to Jackson Browne, Solo Acoustic Volume 1...with Volume 2 to follow. Just opened it up this morning.

    The fact that I'm enjoying the music is a given as I am a Jackson Browne fan going all the way back to the days when he was writing songs for the Byrds and Linda Ronstadt along with his early work with the Eagles. I would expect nothing less than a really good performance. I have his entire catelog of original albums (no greatest hits...no need for them)

    The plus is that it is an excellent recording. SQ is so good that if you shut your eyes you can almost picture him sitting at the piano or playing his guitar mere feet in front of you. I could do without the clapping of the crowd…but I guess it is part of the “experience.

    This is one situation (a rare one at that) where I could envision the value of a multi-channel recording…if…and only if…they put the crowd (and nothing else) on the rear channels. Then I could envision a “front row” seat at a great concert.

    If you like Jackson Browne, I can highly recommend this 2 disc set of live music.
