If that isn't one of the more bipolar posts I've read recently...

When did Emotiva become Evoltiva? I can think of worse used gear with no warranty that give some ppl pause for reflection. I can even think of more positive things to do like help instead of bash things all the time. I think Carver and Bob Carver suck but you'll also notice some other participation....you should try it.

Ha ha ha, and I'm loaded up on all my meds today!:D:p

Somebody just buy the friggin' thing and report back. ****.

I'm tempted to just to put everyone's mind at rest. Two UPA-1 monos should annihilate my Oinker, right? RIGHT?

"annihilate" ! I am very happy with my 876 and my SC05 without any additional external amps.

Think rock and roll. Think Cervin Vega with the red rubber rings. Think not Diana Krall and Cassandra Wilson but ZZtop or Ozzy and Jimmy Hendrix. With all that in mind. who cares abt accurate, sound stage? Just loud music and rock and roll from an classic rock FM station. It's time for fun . Critical listening can createa stress of upgrading. Keep it simple and put thing where it belongs.

My oinker provides that with no problems. If i was just looking for loud music, i wouldn't even spend the entry fee it costs to get into any Emotiva gear.

Oh holy crap. Still going to be $610 shipped for a pair of UPA-1s, $680 by the time i can order. We'll see how the bonus is. I think i'd rather a pair of Denon or B&K monos for that price.

Give the Emo a chance after all I can move them fairly quick over A'gon site. ****, I shipped the 400xi to Poland and the 280 CD to Sweden without a hick-up. Who knows some comrades in Russia may want the pre-own in mint condition Emo or some Red villagers in China want to listen to their own products.

Come on, I practice CHANGE and HOPE and you all try to discourage me. CHANGE is to buy mid-end gear and HOPE is keep the expextation low so I will not be dissapointed.

I've done my time with B&K, Adcom, Rotel, Acurus, Para...they are behind the miror view. I want to try some new blood even the slow boat from China will keep me waiting. Oh, how do I love your spending OB !

Ok...how can you possibly know that this amp provides great bang for the buck? It just came out...and you've never even heard it.

Well it is essentially exactly the same as the UPA-7 minus two channels.

    To whom it may apply:

Obvious bias pretty much destroys credibility. Instead of aimlessly bashing brand "A", how about backing your observations with some real world use and experience. This whole Emotiva "hate" thing is about as 3rd grade as it gets. I have never heard any Emotiva gear, but it appears to be a good value, if nothing else. I certainly wouldn't expect a $699 amp to compete with $1500 + power amps, so I'm not sure what the expectation is. It's one thing to not care for a product, it's another to bash it at every opportunity.

I do hate the flashy blue lights that remind me of the Boom-box that the brothers from the south of the border really like. I do not hate Emo yet. Who knows I may like the UPA1 with my tin ears

Funny as to how I don't own any Emotiva...

That isn't the point....you, along with a few others, are sitting there blowing hot air about an item and subject that you know little about.

Sorry about your reading comprehension skills.

Looks like Emotiva has unleashed another great bang for the buck amp. For $549 you get 125 watts X 5 that is 4ohm rated.

Makes it kind of hard to purchase the used 5 channel Carver and Rotel that I saw on Craigs List with almost identical ratings. If you don't want to chance it on a used amp this seems to fit the deal for the budget conscious that still want some class leading electronics.

Uhhh, the UPA-5 has been out for a while LOL.
