Maybe that's a good thing, since the Pioneers are the buggiest and slowest BD players around.
Maybe their earlier models, my bdp 320 plays like a charm, no hiccups and plays everything I throw at it with no errors. Slower than some,yes,but if your one to worry over 10 seconds, you have other issues.HT SYSTEM-

If it was really only 10 seconds, that wouldn't bother me at all. On average though, it actually takes three times as long to load a disc as the JVC and Oppo models do. Right around 1 full minute. -

In the link you posted it says nothing about Pioneer putting it's logo on Sharp players or vice versa. It mentions a "joint partnership" and alludes to the two companies working together and sharing information. We don't know which company will have a greater role in the design. For all we know it could be JVC putting it's logo on Pioneer players. -
Pioneer bd players seem to be some of the most underated players when it comes to picture quality alone. Home Theater Mag tested the Pio 320 and said it's upscaling from 480i to 1080p for dvd's rivaled the Oppo's. I've read on other forums how the Pio's picture is more film theater like the way the director intended it to look.

Pioneer seems to have a pretty wonky mgt team at the moment. I saw them referenced in a non-audio business/market review and it indicated that they are kind of adrift without a firm hand on the tiller. They need Cap'n Jack Sparrow!
Not only that but for the car audio line they are pulling the premier line in a year or so. Which does not bother me never like their car audio stuff.HT setup

I don't really care who owns the company. I just hope the players have these features:
Faster loading times
Superior picture quality
Keep the current Pioneer Qartz Kuro link to work with Pio avr's and Pio plasma. -

Hopefully you're right, I hate to see any company disappear, it means less competition. But it is odd that they have not announced any new players, last year they were announced in January. -
JVC owns Pioneer or a majority share of the Pio company and it says in the link above they joined to make bluray players back in October of '09 so I guess it will take some time to see their Pio/JVC models.

Kinda sad to see Pioneer go by the way side after all these years. No love lost with Sony though. I haven't bought any of their products in many years. Between problems with at least 6 CD players, 2 WEGA's, 2 MD players, 2 VAIO's...I'll probably never buy another Sony product.--Gary--

Pioneer isn't leaving the bluray disc market. They're still going to make bluray players and unite with Sharp which is known to have the best laser technology in the world, their "blue laser diodes." I think this will improve their bluray players.
