Bought an iPod Touch 32 GB.
This thing is pretty cool. Don't know how I could live without it for 50 years. Seriously.
Left my audiophile card in the trash this morning.

It's my Xmas present. It's ridiculous how much music you can fit in there. And the games. And wifi. And Bluetooth.Really Awesome.
It will get a lot of use in the car, but I don't see why I wouldn't also use it in the main 2 channel rig. It is way too practical._________________________________________________

Seriously, get the remote function going and hook your Apple up to a real DAC and then we'll talk about how sweet the iTouch is. -
I bought my 32g a couple weeks ago the only problem is the ear phones don't fit the greatest.

Convenience = Compromise in sound. That's all I have to say about that.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

I have an older creative labs Zen Vision:M 30gb (it has a hard drive, not more expensive flash memory). While I still an a solid believer in owning the physical media (CDs), the convenience, especially at work and in the car, has been revolutionary.
I have been hating on Apple for a long time (thus the Zen), but I have resigned myself to knowing that an iPod and MacBook are replacements for Windows hardware.

I agree, but we don't always have the opportunity to hear a live band every night.Convenience = Compromise in sound. That's all I have to say about that.

Thanks Solid but the only sweet apple I like is the one I can eat.

Don't be silly. You are a true audiophile if you use it correctly as part of a good system. I have the 120GB iPod Classic, and use it with the Wadia iTransport and Bryston DAC (this replaced my Benchmark DAC1). If you use Apple Lossless, or uncompressed files, you will have a great little music server. Currently, I have 2000 classical 'songs', and still have 58.3GB free space since I use Apple Lossless.
Enjoy, but stay away from compressed songs, and any music downloaded from iTunes. Use itunes software to manage the files on your PC that you rip from CDs.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

With all due respect to my polkie friends, SQ comes to second place (maybe third) in many, many, many situations and places where you want to listen to music.
Not saying that an ipod can't sound very good using the right files and DAC...still have not played on this field._________________________________________________

Executed by compression into a lossy format, no doubt. -
This post made through my iPod Touch while taking a dump. Talk about convenience. Just checked my email and the weather (nasty today).
"We are The Champions" playing through the built in speaker.
Wait...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm...aah. Sounds good to me._________________________________________________
