Ahh...sorry.

I have the SD version.
For Blu-Ray the Spears & Munsil disc is mighty fine. I got it with my Oppo BDP-83.

These discs provide test patterns and color bars to help you adjust your set for optimal performance. Very informative and useful. Chances are your panel is poorly adjusted using the factory settings.
Have you experimented at all with different modes? For example the "cinema" mode?
IIRC, the DVE disc can be had from netflix and blockbuster may have a similar disc from Avia.
If you are a tweaker, these are excellent tools.-Kevin

^Ah gotcha. I'll definitely see if i can rent any of them, thanks!
I'm watching right now in Cinema mode. It was recommended that i start there during burn in period, and since i have no idea how many hours are on the TV, i moved it to there. And honestly, i like it the best out of the presets anyways. Yeah, it's a little darker, but this thing is really bright anyways, and the colors look much more natural like this.
I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

That is prolly a good place to start. Cinema modes are usually closest to neutral. A good calibration with one of those discs is a real eye opener though.
Enjoy!-Kevin

Yeah, i gotta wonder what crack the programmers were smoking when they created "game" mode. As far as i can see, it has no point other than lighting up your entire living room like it was daylight, and searing your eyeballs to the point that an August summer day would look like twilight.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.
