As featured at Polkfest 2007, Carver Amazing Platinum loudspeaker. An excellent set, yes 60" ribbons, everything nice, the eight subwoofer have all been refoamed and are good for years. Still good looking just like me. Renowned Speaker from Bob Carver that should be on anybody's list who enjoys audio. These are much easier to drive than the Originals, 8ohm, more effecient at 89db, detailed, transparent with awesome clarity, wide soundstage and noted for depth of stage like no other, you will not need any subwoofer with these, they growl.
They have been sitting idle since I shut the WoodShed down, so time to pass them on for someone to actually enjoy. I drove from Ga. to Texas to get these babies. I do have the boxes, but anyone who wants these shipped is our of their mind and they would need to be crated to have any chance, so very expensive.
So come and get them or I can BRING THEM TO POLKFEST 2009 in S.C. at no charge.
As always I reserve the right to sell my gear to the person of my choice, no dibs or that stuff, I will hold them only after payment is received. Priced at only 885.00 for Polkies.
The Polk SDA 1C's are the same ones heard at Polkfest 07, great sound with the Manley Stingray tube amp or if you prefer power drive them with your ss man-amp, these have been completely redone, Walnut finish is awesome and refinished by none other than F1, the side and grill cloth are all professionally redone (cost me 250.00 just for this) and flawless, yes, the tweets have been upgraded to the RDO, have the original pin/blade connect, you are not very likely to find a set like this, truly just plug and play, same as the Amazing's I will bring to the Fest or come and get them. Due to the complete redo and remarkable condition these are premium priced at 650.00, for established Polk members only as too many Polkies were involved getting these back to me after the evil DiscoMIke originally screwed me on them, so I gotta at least try to keep them in the club.
Sound Lab Millenium Loudspeaker--Save yourself seven thousand or so. These have been already upgraded by the factory to PX level both the panels and electronic's, all toroidal, high-end capacitors, electronics, this is a serious speaker for someone looking to move to a truly new level of hi-fi. If I sell these I will be buying another set of even larger Sound Lab which go for much more dough but have the identical electronics to the Millenium series you would be getting, the panels are just bigger and furniture grade wood that I want. I have the wood crates for both the speaker panels and the electronic backplates. These could ship but expensive as the four crates would weigh in around 400 lb total or so, or I could bring to the FEST. My Polk price for members is 5850.00.
I also have some other things for sale, mostly speakers, Polk models I have collected, Monitor 10 with peerless....100.00 bucks, no ship, a couple Polk 450subs, 150.00 each, no ship, some Rt1000i, 275.00 no ship, a cs400i center 165.00 no ship, RT28i cherry 75.00, one has a scrape top right edge, possibly some Polk RTA12c at 175.00, nothing is perfect but nothing that could not go into your living room. Just too many bad things happen shipping speakers, always dicey at best. But as I said I can bring to the Fest once paid for, I guess I am going to have to rent a trailer if I sell all this stuff and have to bring it.
I would like to upgrade my TT, so the Rega p-25 could go for a grand, its tweeked and tricked well beyond stock, with the Iron Audio Platter, upgraded new Rega sub-platter with ruby bearing ball, heavyweight tonearm upgrade for the RB-600 arm, nice ClearAudio Aurum Beta S MM cartridge comes with TT. Decent dust cover with very little wear. Shipping TT's is also dicey, not recommended.
I know I have some nice speaker wire and some Monster 950i connects and a quad of NOS GE 7550 tubes but have to check what is left in the drawers and closet.
Pics of most of this stuff are in the Polkfest 07 showcase. I have something like 80-100 deals in our Flea Market so that is what it is, for any googlers dropping in no low-balls or other shennigans will be responded too, get your WAF issues squared away first, same screenname on the Gon for feedback, non-members of Club Polk responding as new Polkies may be subject to upcharges.

Mega, no sense hording anymore, so there is something for everyone's budget. If the SoundLab go so be it, if not great and I will save the cash for my own upgrade.

RT1, I got what u mean. When the time comes, I have to part with two pairs of Carver ALS too. Wished I lived closer so I can grab them off your hands.
Any possibility to ship SDA 1C to CA?

Those 1Cs are sweet and the Carvers are just plain awesome.
-
The last time I shipped SDA to California the crossovers were destroyed, you can find the tale in my old posts, so it can be done but I cannot assume any responsibility for them arriving safely and it is costly, I would recommend crating if you really want to do it.
This is how F1nut bought his 2.3 from a fellow in Ca. and they did make it but if you can find a set local and redo them, I don't know if you would pay less in the end or not.
RT1 -
So, what are you replacing them with??? Start a thread on it man!
madmaxVinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want...

Anyone from Florida taking a trip? Id take those 10's

Someone local needs to grab several of these sets or at PF. I'd want those monitor 10's after the continuous talk about them but no shipping on them which is completely understandable

OK! I'll see if I can find a pony express to pick up the SDA 1C from you and drop off in Cali.
I think the cost of crating and freight shipping for a pair of 1C would almost equal to the cost of speakers itself.
Good Luck with the Sales!Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin: -

Yeah, im only an hour or so away from you. Are these the signed ones in the showcase?
PaulyLife without music would♭ -
yea, I forgot about the signing, hmmmmmm, guess that makes emm worth a grand easy, I mean Monica signed em, very rare indeed,......j/k, 100 bucks, they have not been used since PF. I got them from Tour2ma, I think I paid him 100 bucks. For the record they are no match for the SoundLabs.....hehehehehe

Man, I want those Carvers. What do I need the Carvers or a new TT???? Would you be able to hold the Plats for a month until I can make the drive to Georgia?
-
well, yes, I can hold as long as you like if you commit to them as sold and forward the funds. bring your new school gear and we can do an old school/new school shoot-out. of course you hear your gear on SoundLab and its going to cost you thousands more IF it can handle them.
I will send you a p.m.
RT1 -
I'll take them as long as Steve is willing to lug em back to FL for me. Guess ill have to buy him some beers or something.
Who is Monica BTW? and Who is the other sig just so i know what im getting myself into?
PaulyLife without music would♭ -
I don't have any issues bringing them back for you. Monica and Al? I forgot who else from Polk Audio was down... But both signatures where of Polk Audio employees them self.

Figured the one on right was Al, just wanted to make sure. And thanks for the clarification on who Monica was.
Appreciate you hauling em back after PF.
That Carver still around? Forgot all about that heavy **** lug.
Pm'ed Ted to finalize the deal
Thanks

So your going to be the guy with speakers in the van at Polkfest this year??? Carvers no less!
Good luck with the sale buddy. DiPole Dan is still wiping the tears from his eyes for selling his.Carl -
yes, Carl, GG is going to give me a whipping for selling these.
OK, the signatures are from Monica and Mark Susskind, Mark was heavy into the Lsi line and the new Polk subs, he may have drank a couple beers at the Fest, Al was there but had to hurry home after one night at the Fest as everybody's favorite Polk Lady the beautiful Hedy took ill. BTW Hedy is fine and looked marvelous last year, Al was seen chasing Doro with a stick to keep him in his cage away from her, in the mean time Shack was seen lurking and then talking Al into letting him "spend" the night............ahhhhh the tales of Polkfest never end.
Pauly if the you want the sigs we can take the bass radiator out and get more at this years fest.
So lots of near deals in the making, but nothing as "hit the books" as of yet, you can see though who has expressed true interest.
RT1 -
RT1,
I will be in touch soon about the cs400i and the one of the 450 subs. I am going to touch base with Mark and see what we can work out. Thanks very much.
