Should I unhook speakers cable from Onkyo 805 and plug to Emotiva XPA-5's binding posts? and hook up onkyo to xpa-5 with RCA cable..
or leave my speakers cable hooked to 805?

You have to hook up your speakers to the amp, and RCA from receiver to amp.
You will need one RCA for each speaker from your preouts. -

run your interconnects from onkyo pre-outs to xpa inputs, than run your speeker wires from the amps binding posts. congrats on your purchase!

Then if your only running the front three all you need to worry about is having three RCA interconnects for your amp.

I think ill order 7.1 RCA from signals. I like color cable , make it easier for me to follow
ill use 3 rca from best buy for now.
wish monoprice has color cable and its cheaper there.. oh wellI am 100% BORN DEAF and No I am not kidding!

IMO audioquest and polk go great together. If you ever get the chance at giving them a try I would do it. Type 4 speaker wires and Diamondback IC's.
If I was running the LSi series I think I would have to go MIT.
I am running Audioquest in my HT setup, and MIT in my 2 channel setup now. -
If you end up getting any AQ's, I'd highly recommend the Sidewinders. I have them in my 2 channel rig and love em. Most people say that they have about 90% of the performance of the Diamondbacks, and some even prefer the Sidewinders between the two. They can be had on the cheap too...around 40-50 bucks for a 1 meter stereo pair. The nirvana inducer-

I agree with Curt on this, Sidewinders will do just fine as well. -

Is this a joke? The XPA5 weighs 66 pounds. If your wife cannot lift 66 pounds then she has a serious health problem.

Congrats Caligula!
I remember you asking me if I hooked up my xpa-5. I have not yet
. Let me know how it sounds! As for the hookup, that's what everyone's been telling me. I'm using SC Analog II and Analog I interconnects, then speaker wire to the Emotiva.
I'm very excited to hook mine up...if I ever get around to it.Samsung LN52A850 (52" 1080P LCD TV) | RTi A9's (Fronts) | Csi A6(Center) | FXi A6 (Rear Surrounds) | SVS PB12-NSD (Sub) | Oppo BDP-103 | Panamax M5300-PM

That hardly represents less than 1% of the women in the world. You shouldn't marry children. Any adult woman should be able to squat and benchpress her weight. If she can't then she is out of shape. Congrats.
Take the pre amp outs from the Onkyo to the XPA 5 inputs (Front L&F,Center,Side Left & Right).
Use the Onkyo speaker out for the Rear speaker(s)
Connect speakers to XPA 5
Connect the Onkyo 12v trigger to the XPA 5 input 12v trigger. (this will auto turn on amp when Onkyo is turned on
PM me if you need any more help.engtaz

You're single, aren't ya?
If you ever work up the cojones to tell any woman she needs to hit the gym, please video tape the event. The Darwin awards have been lacking quality stupidity for a while now, this video could really bring them back.
What a dumb thing to say. -

Congrats! Looks great...but I'd be losing those stickers on the Onkyo. It looks a lot sleeker with an all black face IMO.Is this a joke? The XPA5 weighs 66 pounds. If your wife cannot lift 66 pounds then she has a serious health problem.

I would have to guess that more than 1% of the women in the world can lift 66 pounds. I wouldn't want a chick that couldn't lift 66 pounds...because that would mean she'd be small enough to be mistaken for a 12 year old girl.:rolleyes:The nirvana inducer-
