I probably should have asked what a non SDA speaker with similar sound to the 1C I could aquire. Looking at Polks line-up, The Monitobr 12 seems to be a good choice.
Suggestions?
I've always though that the 5a's (w/peerless) sounded like "mini" SDA's,, of course the bass is less, but the soundstage is excellent. Can't comment on the 10's because I have not heard them enough. Good luck.BTW,, the 5's with little tube mono's or a small stereo tube amp is quite the ticket.

Try something in the RTA series, maybe RTA-11TL's. -
