Subwoofer

I just finished getting my HT and mancave setup exactly how I want them subwoofer wise , and I have 1 project left that I dont need or have room for.

If DIY is something you want to try, this is as easy as it gets....you just glue and clamp the enclosure and install the driver/radiators ...then finish the enclosure in paint or veneer.

The unassembled enclosure has been CNC machine cut for all bracing/assy grooves/drivers out of HDF in a 1 inch thickness ( All walls and even bracing...which connects front/back and top/bottom ...are 1 inch thick ) ....the unassembled cabinet alone weighs 139 pounds...with packing materials it was just 1 pound under the FedEx limit of 150 pounds or they would have had to ship it freight.

The driver is a 15" CSS SDX15 http://www.creativesound.ca/details.php?model=SDX15 http://www.creativesound.ca/pdf/CSS-SDX15-data-121107.pdf

The Two (2) 18" radiators are http://www.creativesound.ca/details.php?model=PR1821 http://www.creativesound.ca/pdf/CSS-PR18-data-230907.pdf

The really cool thing about these radiators is that they use the same exact flat front face as the Polk radiators.....so from the front they are a perfect match.

All brand new....
The SDX15 delivered is 290 bucks
The two PR1821's delivered are 248 bucks
The custom enclosure was 250 bucks before shipping ...forgot what I paid for shipping ( The package weighed 149 pounds )

So even without the shipping on the enclosure that is 788 bucks.

I need this gone yesterday.....so how about 400 bucks ???

Look at the specs and pics....this is one serious subwoofer :D

This will be for pickup in Gilroy CA only

Damn, northern Cali is just too far to drive. This is an excellent design/sub.

The enclosure is 27"x27"x27" with 1" walls the interior would be 9.042 Cu ft but......

With the extensive use of bracing using 1" material, as well as minusing the volume of the baskets/magnet of the sub and radiators....the actual usable interior volume worked out to be just a tad over 6 cu ft.

CSS standard recommendation is the SDX15 paired up with 2 of their 18" radiators in a 5 cu ft enclosure...while modeling the project, I decided to go a bit larger for more lowend extension. The T/S parameters for the SDX15 are really awesome, it can be utilized in anything from a small sealed to very large ported alignment.

I'll be really surprised if this ad last longer than today. Add an O-audio plate amp and you will have a subwoofer under $600 that will perform like subs at least 3-4X the price.

No kidding, I'll have to tell my cousin about it (he's currently in salinas). I'll send you a PM if he's interested

My intention exactly....hence the recession pricing :D

If I hadnt of hoarded TC Sounds drivers when I did before they closed shop, this wouldnt be going anywhere.

Shipping this would be a nightmare, not only are the components really heavy....but that unassembled enclosure with its CNC cut grooves and edges is in its own world of fragile. When they shipped me my first custom enclosure it was destroyed by FedEx....they didnt protect the corners well enough. They had to ship me another entire enclosure, this time they packed it well enough to make it here perfect...but it tipped the scales at like 149.9 pounds...just so it didnt have to go freight.

Once the enclosure is glued/clamped its bulletproof, but with those machined grooves half the thickness of the material ....it's just too fragile for me to ship.

Hi, I live in San Jose, so pick up isn't a problem.

What kind of frequency response do you expect with this enclosure? Also, what kind of wattage amp would you need to run it? I've never built a PR sub before. Where do the radiators mount?

Sorry, I'm too new to send you a PM. Can you shoot me an e-mail? darien at hotmail dot com

It's an awesome deal, I was trying to figure out how to justify to the wife driving 400 miles one way to get it. This has got to be one of the great sleeper-finds, except this wasn't sold cheap on accident, but on purpose!
