What's the cut off date for this? I just bought a car so i'm broke again, but would like to get in on this to make sure ben is properly reimbursed, as well as have a shot or two at the cables. :)

If you need me to paypal him some money on your behalf. Let me know...

IMO - As long as there is not a single pair of I/C kept for others in the CP community to demo, I think we have headed to the direction of buying a Lottery Ticket or a ticket for door prizes other than for the community in the CP. Sorry Folks but I don't want to arise any argument with you guys about it. If you think I am wrong, let it be. Also, don't think I am saying about ERC-1. I am now saying about the I/C and I/C only.

Initially, I thought I would buy a set from Ben and Kept it in the CP for others to demo (probably along with other stuff in the future). But since Ben offers a very generous 2 for 1 deal and now he is even making 2 pairs of 4 ft length each, my contribution to buy a set is unnecessary and we are only short of a few bucks which I am sure others will happily contribute.

Since the draw does not suit my attention, I am officially out of the cable draw too. On a bright side, it means more for you guys! :D

The goal of this was not to have demo pieces for everyone in the forum. Those who were/are interested in this demo have spoken up by now. Sure, we could have a pair of ICs circulating indefinitely, but why should only those who speak up first have to pay for them?

I understand your logic, but I'll be honest... I'm not interested in becoming the ClubPolk accountant whenever someone wants to pay for a demo.

In any case, thank you for your input and participation! Payment to Emotiva is en route!

You and others don't have to agree with me. Like I said, it's IMO and IMO only. But the logic is simple - people pave roads for people to walk (drive) on. Thanks God not every roads are Toll road in this country or I am outta here.

But you are right - you shouldn't become an accountant for CP to circulate the demo. I never meant to say that you will have to take responsibility of controlling the demo stuff.

You did a Great Job in my book even though we have different opinions about the demo and draw. It's an Honest words and comes straight from my heart! :)

    Hey Retro,

I'm looking forward to the first review...looks like it's in good hands! I'll be away from my email for the next week. But by the time you're ready to report I should be back in the U.S. of A.

Also a note of thanks to Ben for the cables! I've been out of the loop for seven days and you guys 'move' fast!

    Enjoy...

I think what I'm going to do is offer (1) drawing slip for every $10 over $20 contributed. This will hopefully encourage the rest of our participants to chip in a few extra dollars to pay Ben for his gratuity. And those who have already given extra will not get penalized.

Those of you who gave $25... I will be happy to give you your $5 back to keep things fair, or you can contribute $5 (or more) for entries into the raffle.

Only members who are participating in this demo are eligible for Ben's cables.

There will then be (2) drawings... one for each pair.

Sounds great. Definitely count me in for the demo and the drawing for the IC's. I've been wanting to check out Ben's IC's for a while anyway, so I'm looking forward to it.:D

    Hi Curt,

I just noticed the way you have that Onkyo hooked to the Adcom...that's a 'clever' short-term solution for a non-pre-out receiver......impressive!

Actually I don't even have it running like that anymore...I haven't updated my sig yet.

I hooked it up with the Zone 2 outs, but it didn't work quite like I thought it would. Apparently the Zone 2 pre-outs on the 606 are more intended for connecting an integrated amp or a pre/power amp. With it connected like that, I wasn't able to control the volume with the Onkyo, and I had to control the volume with the Cambridge. The Onkyo was basically just acting as a pass through for the source. Given that, I just took the Onkyo out of the signal path, and I have the Cambridge hooked up directly to the Adcom.

Luckily, I'm able to control the volume with the Cambridge, or else my Adcom would be sitting here collecting dust right now. It sounds great as it is, but I can't wait to get a pre-amp in the mix.:D

Sounds good to me Dane. No worries on the $5, that was in case of some drop outs. Will you be sending shipping info to each for who they send it to next in line, or does the next in line send their shipping info to the current person in possession? I'll send my info to Retro, just wondering about who I'll be shipping to.

Good question. I will send every participant the address/screenname of person to whom they're shipping, and from whom they are receiving... It will then be up to the two members to sort out shipping arrangements.

Please ALWAYS get tracking #s and insurance. Give me a couple hours to get those all sent out. If there are any problems with communication, let me know so we can promptly take action. (But I don't expect any problems with this group)

hi all, I hope one of you that own an SC-07/05, and trying the ERC-1 can take the time and compare the ERC-1 against just using a flash drive with music using the flac format, and connected to the front USB of the SC-07/05
When using the flash drive, it basically uses the DAC of the SC-07/05.

If I am not mistaken the sc-07 uses the same DAC as the Cambridge Azur 640c.
    Thanks.
