I just bought a set of Rti38's and now am thinking i may want the fx style, although i don't want the 500's.. i need either the 30's or 50's of the new line.. Guess this doesnt help ya?? CC doesnt sell the fxi50's anymore but they still have the 30's at 100.00 more then these 38's.. don't know why they are more.. they have an extra tweet is all i think.. and smaller woofs.. Oh well

    Faster,

I don't thin that you'd notice a hugely different sound between the 500 and the i50. Have you ever listened to the two in an a/b type set-up?

I'm not so much a conformist on having to get all speakers from the same year/ line. My 6 year old RT16's sound just fine with the 1 year old f/x1000's.

I MUCH prefer my surround sound to come out of a bi/dipole speaker than a direct radiating personally......I don't think you can go wrong with the 500's that he's wanting to trade.
    comment comment comment comment. bitchy.

I agree w/ Brett, the FX500i's would be a safe bet for your surround duty.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

well im kinda picky when it comes to speakers matching, plus i got these like 1 1/2 months ago, and i would want a comparable speaker in age, Not that his 500's aren't nice, But they are what? atleast a year or more old (model wise, maybe not how long he's had them)

do you have pictures of the speakers? and would you want to sell them outright?? I know where a set of 38's are pretty cheap locally, they might even still be available.

Hey there. I have a pair of black Rti38s that I have been thinking about returning to CC to put towards something else (and those 500is would go great with my RT2000is! Interested? I bought the 38s in March and they have had sporadic use in my 2 channel office rig (Rotel Pre and Audiosource AMP2). They are in great shape and I have the original boxes.
