What Reciever or Amp(s) for LSi9's

I know, I know I did a search for this topic and I see that it comes up a lot and I am sorry for all you vets who are tired of seeing this, but if you could see it in your hearts to help me out I would appreciate it.

The Story: My family all chipped in for my birthday and suprised me with some very sexy speakers (A pair LSi9's to be exact). This is all well and good except for the fact that my receiver is not able to handle them at all (Onkyo TX-SR506). So I can't really power these things without melting the receiver and blowing out my new Polk's.

I would like to have just a two channel speaker set-up with the LSi9's for playing music with a CD changer and a turntable. I'm looking to spend about 500-700 on a receiver or a pre-amp/power-amp setup, whatever you think will do me best. And if you don't think I can get anything good for that money, speak up. Also a MM/MC phono input on the pre-amp or receiver would be nice, but isn't really required.

Your 506 has a zone 2 line out. Use that and go into a nice 2 channel amp that is 4 ohm stable for your LSi's. Go to AudiogoN.com and take a look around you will find exactly what your looking for. I would recommend a adcom they seem to be a favorite on this message board.

Grats on the great speakers! What a wonderful gift. You're correct that the 506 just won't cut it, and without having pre-outs (iirc), a simple amp won't help either. But either of the choices above would presumably work well - lol - i don't have much to offer at all - i guess i was just saying congrats!
Not my setup - but what I have put together for a friend (i.e. what mine would be if i had the money to invest :D )
    Front: 2 x LSI-9
    Center: LSI-C
    Rear: 4 x M10
    Sub: Elemental Design A2-300
    AVR: Onkyo TX-SR806
    Amp: Acurus 200x3
    BD: HTPC
    Television Programming: Dish ViP722

For 175 if you're into a 2 channel system you can't go wrong with this Harman Kardon. The cash you save can be invested in the rest of your system and the H/K can drive 4 ohm loads. It's a no brainer.

Welcome to Club Polk, great speakers there!
