-if when watching movies with friends, you have to pause the movie and say "sorry, hang on a second, I need to adjust this a little bit" when it's just not sounding quite right.

I've annoyed most of my friends by doing this before...it can't be helped though.

if you spend as much or more time admiring how good your gear looks than you spend actually listening to it.

it you start explaining anything audio to a non audio friend and you realize half way through that they don't have a single clue what you are talking about. But you keep trying to explain anyway...lol.

When the left & right channel are swapped

The music doesn't seem to just be switched side to side

But it also sounds upside down

    seriously - try it!

If you play it so that it pounds on others then yes, you are a low-life. Keep it inside the car, and stop thinking others want to listen to your music.

:D:D That's silly. If people didn't want to hear car stereo's driving by, they shouldn't buy a house next to a road :D:D

I don't have a problem with loud cars. If the hour is reasonable (not 2am) and it's not puttering around the inner plumbing of the local bedroom community streets.

How many of us have turned up our home stereo loud enough a neighbor could hear it?

I just look at them and go "cool, someone who likes loud music. rock on!"

I figure the day every time I hear a car go by and get crotchety about it is the day I just turned old.

What about if you also tweak your video along with that audio throughout the film you're watching? I think I drive my wife crazy fine tuning DVD and B-ray video....a bit less contrast, a bit more brightness, up on the sharpness, bring down the color -3, etc., etc. Oh yeah let me tweak that sub a bit, then bring up the center...

I hear you Curt. And soon no one will be able to tolerate me, us?

LOL...I think there's a thread like that over at Hoffman's forum and some guys had crazy amounts.

Most for me on vinyl is 3 copies of Kind Of Blue.
