I emailed the person 3 times so far with no response, kind of irritating to be honest.

And what's up with paying by Money Order, so you'd just have to send it out and hope you get something in return when he receives it?

I would never pay by money order unless you personally know someone. Possible SCAM written all over it. Which is why I suggest emailing first.

I emailed him asking for pictures, and the exact condition of the amp, but he never got back to me. I tried 3 times, that's enough for me to give up. Maybe that, along with a Money Order, says something in itself right there!

Trust me, i would love to buy that 5200 from the person you bought it from. I can't get it out of my mind and it's the one I really want. But unfortunately $1500 would just kill me though. If it were only a few hundred cheaper i could swing it.

I just installed my 5200 over the weekend and am very happy with it. I too like most of you like the smaller footprint, and how cool they are during extreme performances. I purchased new and dont regret the purchase at all but @ 1000 bucks, looks like I paid too much. Very happy though, regardless.

Sherardp, so you have an SC-07 and decided to get an external amp. Do you see any differences between having and not having the external amp.
I was looking on buying the SC-05 and getting rid of my TGA-5200.
For now I have the pioneer VSX-1018AH-K + the TGA5200 and I feel I want more...

The Sunfire Symphonic Reference preamp/amp were some of the first 2-channel gear they produced. Slightly down in power (250 vs 300 wpc) from the later models but very good. Probably one of the BEST values in a preamp you can find.

I use the 07 as a pre/pro. I have yet to run my setup off just the 07 alone. As for SQ the setup sounds very good as is. I'm not sure if I would rid of the 5200 if I were you, I just added one to my setup and love it. If you feel you need more perhaps get the 05, try it out as is, try it with the Sunfire, then make a move on what to keep/sell.

I always pay by Postal MO. I doubt many people would want to go up against the USPS for fraud.
