If you own a gaming console what is your age?

From the age group in here, of course this poll will be skewed. Mostly males on this forum and mostly in their 30's, 40's, and 50's, 60's. This hobby/forum doesn't attract the under 30 crowd as much. So knowing that, i wasn't surprised that the poll didn't skew more towards a younger video game crowd.

Now had I posted this poll in say a gamers forum.. I bet the results would have been quite a bit different.

I guess I'm just confused as to what the point of the poll is. I wasn't arguing that the poll was flawed because the sample was skewed. I was arguing that the poll is flawed because it doesn't reveal anything. You still won't know the age group that plays, because maybe 1000 people between the age group of 31-40 saw this poll and couldn't vote because they don't own a console (making it 2.7% of that population that plays). But maybe 10 people between the age of 18-25 saw it and voted (resulting in 80% of that population). Obviously, I'm just making up numbers, but the thing is, you don't have any data to say those numbers are off.

The only data I can retrieve from your poll right now is that of people who saw the poll and own a system and voted, 8 of them were between the age of 18-25, 15 were between the age of 26-30, etc. What's the meaning of those numbers besides the fact that 8 of them were between the age of 18-25...? If you were to compare those results with a poll on this forum that asked, "How old are you?" then your poll would actually have meaning.

This poll is like the knock list in Mission Impossible. You only have the list of aliases. But without the real names to link them up to, it's worthless.

Ok fine, I guess the point of his poll is to figure out if at least 1 person in each of those age categories owned a console system. As he put it "I was mostly interested in the age group that owns and plays video games." So I suppose we now know that amongst the users of this forum, the ages that own and play video games includes people in the ranges of 18-25, 26-30, 31-40, and 41+.

To be fair, I didn't really need a poll to tell me that.

36 and i have 2 ps3,s one for me and one for the kids. i like madden and cod 4. kids like playing lego batman, and indiana jones. ratchet tools of destruction.
