I'm rockin' a Parasound HCA 2200ii for my front LSi 9's. They seem to love it. Its an old amp but sounds great to me and anyone who hears it. Plenty of power and trouble free so far for many years.
This is a good stuff you have. It's an OLDie but definitely a Goodie and can drive most speaker load. A lot of good and old parasound amps out there but that model is a keeper.

I am getting this word PRINTED OUT in BOLD RED (font size : 60) and stick it on my forehead. It's impossible, I know.

Good idea, I suspect it might help hide the big SS "L".
The only REEL question is which Tube Rules all Tubes, of course I know, but not sure if I am going to tell.

Thank you Brad. But I'm perfectly happy looking at my pretty blue LED from my prepro & now from my DSW400 sub!;):DThere are a bunch of misconceptions out there about tube gear, cfrizz. Most tube gear requires very little maintenance, and tubes can last for many, many hundreds or even thousands of hours. My amps don't even require biasing, so they're essentially plug & play just like SS amps.
The fun part about tube gear is trying different tubes. Of course, you don't have to, but it's nice to know you can. And you gotta admit, they look pretty cool when you dim the lights.
I hope this helps you out with the crazy confusion you have about tubes.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -

I agree. I had some ESS amt1 d's hooked up to it for a few years. What a great combination that was.
385 watts RMS x 2, 20Hz-20kHz, 4ohms
50 amperes continuous
90 amperes peak
pure Class A operation up to >6 watts output; Class AB-1 thereafter"The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it." Neil deGrasse Tyson. -
ESS AMT1D are one of the Goodies too. Hope you keep it. It's not easy to find a good AMT1 speakers these day.Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:

You are such a swooner, I'll bet you could have given Sinatra a run for his money.

Well right now I am enjoying my Luxman M-117 amp and my new Marantz 6600 universal player (had both less than a week). The Adcom 535II in the pic is for my center channel. I previously had an Adcom 545 but had the opportunity to try the Luxman. I did an A/B comparison and the Luxman walked all over the Adcom imo. Of course the Luxman has 2x the power of the Adcom but overall I feel there is a big difference in sound. Now if only I were able to compare the Adcom 555 to the Luxman......I wonder which one would sound better, hmmmm. Maybe I'll get that chance since Adcoms come up for sale so often. Been listening to some old Patsy Cline and it sounds phenominal. Once I have been schooled in tubes I may go that route but for now I don't get any of the harshness mentioned that comes with SS gear.

What just rocked my world???

Some good reads (tubes or no tubes) for you Ladies and Gents in the club!

Great tube gear and great ss gear sound more similiar than different.
With ss amps it is very expensive to get the expansiveness in soundstage and the smoothness that tubes offer. However, with tube amps it gets very expensive to get ss power. So it depends on which one of those is a priority to you.
I am not sure where the comments that tubes take the edge off are coming from. I do not find this to be the case at all...if anything I find tubes to be more detailed with more subtle textures than middle of the road ss amps. I have that Clapton unplugged cd and still find it very edgy in my system as well.
The nice thing that ss amps offer is the ability to pull double duty in regards to home theatre. Something I will have to work around because my tube amps aren't going anywhere any time soon.

Very true......don't think I'll ever own another amp with BJT's. And I'm damn near addicted to Pure Class A. In fact my little space heater is working out quite well this time of year

This summer is going to be a little scary:eek::)"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience.
