Hardest Polk drivers to find.

Face had a thread wanting 2 MW6503's, and had me wondering what drivers are the hardest to come by. Here is my guess, and I am talking about finding originals.
MW6513 has to be #1
MW6509
MW6510
MW6511
MW6503
MW6501
The MW6500 seems to be the easiest to find. But the peerless tweeters seem to have a dry spell here and there.

I just realized I didn't take the SRT System in to consideration. I am sure the drivers in these would be incredibly hard to find..Polk Audio SDA 2.3tl Fully Hot Rodded. 😎

Wrong. It's the MW6502. I found one in my basement last night. Can't get any easier than that._________________________________________________

6503's are still available from Polk."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

it is the MW 6516 was last appraised at $15,000.00 in mint condition !
anyone need one ? -

FYI - Polk still does make the 6513.

Original 6511's are tough to get. You have to be fast when they appear on the Bay. I'm fixing to purchase a pair of 1B's that I hope have a 6511 or 2 in them. If not, they can go to my girlfriend. I got her a pair of realistic Mach 1's (4024A) that she's using right now but I think the SDA's are a step in the right direction.

Polk CS tells me that the mids and tweeters are still available directly from them but that the subwoofer drivers are not available. I guess that means there are about 1,000 of them out there in the US with maybe a few spares.....
Ed would know....____________________________________________________________

I'd upgrade the subwoofers anyways.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I would've told my friend to get his 6503's from Polk cust. serv. had I known that. I waited a yr. looking in this forum for them. oh well, we always learn something every day or so.:rolleyes:Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

I have a source for SRT sub drivers, he's got literally 100's of them.
What I'm frustrated about, is nothing for the first and second gen RT line. I've got a mint pair of RT20p's, but the subs are oop, and and weird size to boot (7 3/4"). I keep hanging onto them in hopes something will surface so I can restore them, they sound FANTASTIC with a good bill of health.
Cheers,
